Pale golden yellow in color with a very fine & constant perlage. Full, forward & fragrant nose of ripe fruit aromas of apples, citrus notes of lemons/limes/grapefruit with overtones of floral & yeasty notes, brioche, almonds, stony/chalky, minerals & a hint of oak. Medium light bodied with a very good concentration of well balanced & smooth textured, ripe fruit flavors of apples & citrus notes of lemons/limes/grapefruit with yeasty/toasty, roasted hazelnuts, stony & minerals. Long lingering finish. Drinks quite well at present although it should develop further with additional aging. An excellent Vintage Roederer!

2015 Louis Roederer Champagnes (Flor Wines, Portland OR): This shows off more distinct autolytic tones with a good bit of warm pastry dough and fresh bakery notes that lean into tones of red apples, kumquat, toast, pears, and some biscuits. The Medium bodied feel is textured and balanced with integrated, high acidity. There is a mouthwatering quality to the acidity and the autolytics show through well. But, this really just lacks that extra gear of depth across the nose and palate that would greatly add to the wine.

All Grand Cru. 2/3 Pinot Noir, 1/3 Chardonnay. And really darn good. The tension and seamlessness across the palate. Lively and wonderful. And just darn delicious. No malo.

It reminded me of Victorian lemonade. The best possible glass of lemonade. Absolutely delicious. Leafy, zesty, tamed lemon. There's more to it than citrus, something herbaceous and maybe nutty, an appley undertow, a hint of peach, but there's not as much else going on as there might be. Totally delicious though. It stays in the mind.

Put it Very Good close to outstanding, but lacked length and complexity to me to be that higher.
Given it was 8 years old I 'd expect even more secondary and tertiary character as truffle or a bit of honey, beeswax... it was very creamy, and dough like... hints of pastry and and brioche, not that much either !
Still found it was Champagne, but did not put it vintage.... I called extended lees aging though :)
All the best to anyone going through a D3 exam next ! it's tricky but so muchhhhh fun

A very nice and open champagne direct at opening. Dominates of hazelnuts, brioche, lemon zest and red apples. Not a champagne you want several glasses of, perhaps a bit to high dosage for my preference.
This has long aging potential.

Dense and lemony with a rather gentle mousse for such a young champagne. Firm acidity.

Champagne raffiné avec bulle fine. Sur le minéral, pomme et citron. Long en bouche. Dommage de le boire si jeune

Great balance. Uplifting acidity and fresh apple tastes. Can wait a few years to gain some complexity. Got better after an half hour open.
