    Alcohol 15.4%, 0.5 g/l residual sugar, 5.1 g/l acidity, 3.72 pH

    Vineyard: Winery Block
    Dry grown Grenache bush vines planted on their own roots in 1934 and 1943.
    Yield: 40 hl/ha
    Soil Type Sandy loam over clay.
    Harvest Notes: Lovely vintage without summer heat waves and good soil moisture led to a later harvest more in line with the vintages of the 70's, 80's and 90's.

    Vinification: Handpicked, open vats 12 days, basket pressed. Maturation in old barrels and tronconique vats.
    Oak influence: No new oak influence.
    Months in bottle: 10, production 36.000 bottles

    Fragrant, spicy, fruity, incense, herbs like rosemary, palate showing nice tannins, a touch warm, cinnamon candy

  • Dark purple. Nose is open, fruity, green, youthful and stemmy. Very concentrated palate. Leans hard into aniseed. Combined with the high alcohol and concentration it's almost medicinal in character. Mouth filling and structured but with plenty of body to match the tannin. Some typical Grenache garigue notes.

    Interesting, and high quality but not sure I loved it. Might be better with food but would want to be something rich.
