The nose is acceptable, even attractive, with a somewhat confectionary raspberry note. But the palate just doesn't cut it: soapy, chemical, bitter, offputting and even with lemon juice I don't really enjoy it. If looking for a summer mixer, check out the Evan Williams Sour Mash Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey, the Bulleit Frontier or even good ol' Southern Comfort.

Single shot on the rocks. Great memories from my youth. More than one night at La Pacheca del Grao in Castellón indeed. This shot behaves very floral but also mineral with that memory of peat. Smoked notes as well. In the mouth it is a bit more restricted than in the nose and still leaves that traditional sweet corn candy aftertaste. A comfort choice within a proverbial softness.

Thanks Karlo! Aroma... caramel, vanilla and alcohol mostly, slightly fruity. Taste... caramel, banana, peat, rubber at times, dry, slightly papery the initial sweetness quickly going into a dry finish with mouth tingling alcohol burn. Some of the flavors are indeed fine though it's quite rough at the edges, prompting dilution. Guh, dunno, for a "regular", this is fine enough, far better than some of the competition, and yet it's nowhere near the highest quality ones in my uneducated opinion.

WSET Level 4 Course - WSET School; 9/6/2014-5/23/2015 (WSET School, Bermondsey): Appearance: This is clear with a medium amber colour. Nose: The nose is clean showing medium intensity aromas of vanilla, oak, maple, banana, honey sweetness. This is matured. Palate: This is dry in the mouth with smooth alcohol. It has a medium body and medium intensity flavours of hot apple cider, ripe banana, sharp spice, vanilla, butterscotch, maple syrup. The finish is medium and some complexity. Conclusion: It is a good quality spirit. Good balance, well integrated alcohol, some complexity. Premium price - £23.75

Blech. Smells like a biochem lab experiment gone bad. Thin and spiky body. Sickly sweet. Just revolting.

Good basic Tennessee whiskey. I prefer Bourbon but you can't go wrong with Jack Daniels'. Takes me a while to finish a bottle. Hyped.

Brun gyllen. Kommersielt, karamellaktig sødme, falskt. Tydelig alkohol på duft og smak, neglelakkfjerner. Søt.

Good for mixed drinks and pretty good on the rocks or neat for standard bar whiskey
