  • Citrus and sea breeze. medium+ body, almost oily. Bitter and acidic long finish. Very good representation of the style.

  • Of course, we had this at a Greek restaurant. And, of course, it paired perfectly with the grilled octopus, lamb, Greek salad with Feta. My wife LOVED it.
Light & bright yellow color with aroma of lime and tons of minerality. Flint and I thought slate. Light, fresh body with high acidity and lots of citrus. The flint flavor was central to the flavor and balanced with the acidity and citrus..
    Just delicious

  • Brought by Brandon. Wasn't able to take notes on the night of. This note is on day 2 (02/18/2024) from left overs in 187 ml bottle. Nice aromas of flint, mild sea spray, ripe apples and minerals. Palate with nice ripe apples, some pears, a bit of saline, chalk and minerals. Medium+ body with nice acids. A nice, lingering finish. This is nice but also tastes young. I imagine some short term aging with bring the wine together more and add more depth. But this is the wine that introduced me to assyrtiko over 15 yrs ago. Fond memories and the wine still delivers, although the frame seems a bit bigger now than it was back then. My last Sigalas assyrtiko was in 2016 and just as enjoyable. 90+ for now with a nice upside.

  • Aromas of yellow fruits like apricot, smoke and minerals. Soft and elegant in the mouth. Lacks some focus and the fresh minerality of many other Santorini wines.

  • Definitively better than the 2022 Tselepos I had yesterday. Not much price difference though. Somehow my mind links this wine with Manzanilla sherry: salinity, minerality, the nearness to the sea perhaps. And yes, I am aware if all the differences. This Sigalas is a beautiful wine. Most of it is dunk in Santorini itself with tourists paying good prices. Assyrtiko ages very well, but I would prefer crus KAVALIEROS and NYCHTERI to lay down in my cellar.

  • Dry and crisp, bright acidity (M+) and minerality. Lime and hint of salinity. Easy drinking and good for chilldown after exercise or for pool party. Good with raw oysters.

  • Such a beautiful white wine. Goes down way too easy.

  • One of the very best Assyrtikos I have ever had the opportunity to taste.
Light golden yellow color in the glass with lovely aromas of white nectarines, lemons and a hint of honey and almonds…But this was only the beginning!
On the palate, Sigallas’ 2022 Assyrtiko was light and engaging, yet the wine’s zesty raciness was absolutely amazing.
The wine’s taste sensations well reflected its aromas.
Acidity, as expected, was excellent with a smooth finish that faded away all too quickly!

  • HIgh alcohol 14.% ABV
Sharp lemony nose, lemon peel, ripe fruit, touch of basil here,
Quite full-bodied, nice and lemony, a little saline, not the most intense and mineral, more like a mainland assyritiko. Still it's very tasty.

  • Popped and poured prior to tasting. Extremely light straw color, nearly completely translucent. The nose is redolent of lemon custard.

Lots of bright tropical fruit up front with a hint of minerailty on the back end and there is a bit of residual sugar present This bottle is consistent with my previous note.

  • I have been sampling vintages of this wine since I first visited Santorini in 2008. The wine shows an amazing consistency from year to year, albeit with small variations depending on conditions. In recent years, I have tended to age the bottles for four or five years in my cellar before tasting, and they have been wonderful. They frequently display great mineral and saline qualities, along with unripe stone fruit and a touch of residual sugar.

That said, for a change I am tasting this one shortly after release, and it’s been a revelation! There is a distinct freshness and fruitiness on display here, and I find it entirely captivating. There is a touch of green melon, along with the flintiness that one comes to expect from Sigalas Santorini. The fruit and residual sugar is front and center, and I suspect that it will fade a bit with the passage of time. If that is your thing, pop, pour, and enjoy! If you’d rather see the fruit take a more of a back seat to the mineral notes, I suggest aging it for 4-5years. Either way, I am confident in asserting that this is a world-class white wine. My main regret is that the price has nearly doubled since 2008. However, I believe it is worth every penny of the current price.

  • Solid. There is a consistent vibe in this wine across vintages. The bitter elements are a smidge less than the '21 a week ago, but is also slightly richer and fatter. If you have this in your glass, you shouldn't be complaining.
