  • Citrus and sea breeze. medium+ body, almost oily. Bitter and acidic long finish. Very good representation of the style.

  • Of course, we had this at a Greek restaurant. And, of course, it paired perfectly with the grilled octopus, lamb, Greek salad with Feta. My wife LOVED it.
Light & bright yellow color with aroma of lime and tons of minerality. Flint and I thought slate. Light, fresh body with high acidity and lots of citrus. The flint flavor was central to the flavor and balanced with the acidity and citrus..
    Just delicious

  • Brought by Brandon. Wasn't able to take notes on the night of. This note is on day 2 (02/18/2024) from left overs in 187 ml bottle. Nice aromas of flint, mild sea spray, ripe apples and minerals. Palate with nice ripe apples, some pears, a bit of saline, chalk and minerals. Medium+ body with nice acids. A nice, lingering finish. This is nice but also tastes young. I imagine some short term aging with bring the wine together more and add more depth. But this is the wine that introduced me to assyrtiko over 15 yrs ago. Fond memories and the wine still delivers, although the frame seems a bit bigger now than it was back then. My last Sigalas assyrtiko was in 2016 and just as enjoyable. 90+ for now with a nice upside.

  • Aromas of yellow fruits like apricot, smoke and minerals. Soft and elegant in the mouth. Lacks some focus and the fresh minerality of many other Santorini wines.

  • Definitively better than the 2022 Tselepos I had yesterday. Not much price difference though. Somehow my mind links this wine with Manzanilla sherry: salinity, minerality, the nearness to the sea perhaps. And yes, I am aware if all the differences. This Sigalas is a beautiful wine. Most of it is dunk in Santorini itself with tourists paying good prices. Assyrtiko ages very well, but I would prefer crus KAVALIEROS and NYCHTERI to lay down in my cellar.
