Not bad for an old wine. Just wanted to taste my birth year wine. Little maderized, but that can be expected with something this old. Little raisin, minerality as in a fish sauce. *3-4th night. Developing for the better had to rescore.

Opened without any expectations, but with a nice surprise: Cork was still good and tight, wine showed no signs of cork, very few Sediment. I drank the wine without decanting. Color was orange red with Brown reflexes, so definitively an old boy. It was not crystal clear because of some fine Sediment. Still interesting nose of (medicinal) herbs, lovage, earth, leather, some oxidative notes. On the palate a still powerful and well integrated acidity, some fruit, animalic and earthy notes. Medium+ finish. Not a Blockbuster but a nice suprise :)

Fantastic Night of Old Barolo and More! (An excellent Vancouver restaurant): Now this was showing miles ahead of the Marcarini. The nose was highly complex showing iron, blood and a bit of good stink. The wine was delicious - it actually made my mouth water. This shows as more mature with excellent component integration and tremendous balance. The wine fans out on the palate, feels round in the mouth, and finishes long and strong. More please!!!

Drew's 40th: Pretty nose. Needed time to open up. Was quite nice once it opened up.
