Outstanding wine of superior character and style. Deep brooding opaque crimson daak cherry. Fragrant black berries with a pleasant hint of smokey oak.Well balanced with the dark fruits carrying into the mouth with the introduction of pepper and spice as it moves to the back of the long lingering palate.

Enjoyable and good, but had faded compared to my last bottle around 5.25 years ago, and therefore not as interesting to me. There is still fruit, but I recalled greater complexity, and thus I'd probably encourage drinking sooner than later.

Still kickin'. It's a big wine, and it is also a delicious wine. My spouse wasn't as much a fan of its savory notes as I was. It avoided the stronger stewed fruit/tomato notes I've experienced in the Brookman bottling, and this is definitely my preference of the two, by far.

Amazing bouquet of full throttle dark fruit. A smooth start but then the iron, metallic taste takes over and persists. Not sure what is going on here but it is not as good as previous.

Very ripe, bordering on over ripe fruit. Blackcurrant jam, vanilla, chocolate fudge, raisins and plums. Very generous fruit on the palate, almost with a sweet touch. Full bodied, medium acidity and light tannins. Not at all my preferred style of wine. There is definitely quality here with a high intensity, structure and a long, long finish but it is also way over the top and I was sure this was from California and most likely a quality Zin.

Youthful nose with medium(+) intensity. Loads of super ripe black fruit, violets, cassis, grassy herbs, expensive chocolate, smoke, raisin, figs and vanilla.
Massive body with medium(+) tannins and medium acidity. Again lots and lots of ripe fruit and vanilla. And alcohol. High intensity and long finish.
I understand that there's impeccable fruit quality here but too bad it turns out more like a fortified wine with no sign of varietal character at all. Will probably hold forever.

Still great! Complex and rich but not a jammy fruit bomb typical of Clarendon. Dark berry fruit on the nose and palate yield to black pepper and strangely enough iron/ metallic taste on the ever lingering finish. Still a bit tannic but silky and lush, and that only means my remaining bottles will age well.

Have another bottle to try but the first was a dissapointment. Purple and opaque with brown notes. Tasted well past its prime and like a rich cherry port. The nose, palate and finish were rolling cherry pie. 5+11+15+6=87

Aging well, powerful, great backbone, but what is interesting is that the complexity, well, is becoming more complex! The nuances are unfolding like the layers of an onion. The ultra fine tannins provide extended support, the spice components bounce off each other during a finish that never ends.

Very new world. I disagree with others who say that this is balanced. This wine was followed over five hours and the alcohol was very present for the entirety of the drinking experience. While far from bad, this wine didn't enthrall me as much as some other tasters on this site. The flavor profile was big, which was to be expected, but age has made the fruit taste stewed and pruney with very little underlying complexity. It was just big. I feel like this was a wine that probably drank very well on initial release when the fruit was still fresh. Disappointing showing from this producer whom I have really enjoyed in the past and most recently with their stellar (big but balanced) 2004 Hickinbotham Cabernet.

PnP. Blueberries and cream, plum, and graphite aromas jumping out of the glass. Rich blueberry, plum, bittersweet chocolate, tellicherry peppercorn, and violet flavors. Mostly a powerful and voluptuous wine, but there's enough acid to keep it dry and refreshing, with a delicious flinty edge. Finish is pure and relentless. One of the best wines I've ever had, let alone from Oz.

This is a deep purple wine and it has the bones to back it up. Dark berries, chocolate with hints of pepper. The nose jumps from the glass and the dark fruits and pepper are noticeable.
Good acids which keep this balanced and will allow it to age nicely!

The wine is a deep, dark, inky, purple color. The spellbinding nose has charred meat, blackberries, smoke, roasted herbs, blueberries, black pepper, vanilla, licorice, minerals, Asian spices, and dark chocolate. This has medium to full body, ripe and velvety tannins, and good acidity. The palate on this wine is out of the world with the berries, roasted herbs, and black pepper slowly giving way to spicy, meaty elements and dark chocolate. The finish is extremely long and highlights the spice, meat, and roasted herbs. This is the complete package. Outstanding! No hurry on this one, it has years of life ahead of it.

Decanted for an hour. Intense flavors that continued to open and evolve in the glass over 5 hours. Barbecue spices, prunes, smoke, and pepper in a finish that lasts 2-3 minutes. Superb example of Aussie Shiraz. Could be 95-97 in a few years.

With over 1,000 notes, this is only my third 96 rating. Popped, double vinaerated and left to breathe for four hours. Deep, dense, dark eggplant color with a dark garnet rim, using the fresh snow and sun as a backdrop for the color analysis. Wonderful fragrance of dark fruit. WOW, WOW, WOW - what a powerful, focused fruit forward taste, medium/heavy body, best integration of tannis ever, nice balance of fruit and acidy with a finish that is dark berry driven for well over 10 minutes. - really!! Numerous hidden gems over, under and around this wine that makes the experience even more enjoyable. Consumed during and after an English beef pot roast dinner 4 hours total. Great for sipping.
