A nice Dry Creek Zin from north end of Valley. A little too much noticeable heat, but still with the classic ripe Zinfandel flavors you'd expect from a 15+% alcohol zin with a good balance of acidity that I wouldn't expect from such ripe grapes.

Generous give from Brent which we brought to the holiday dinner. Dark, nearly opaque in a poorly lit room. Aromas of dates and dried leaves. Palate is mostly raisin fruit followed by a long finish. This was a crowd pleaser as it was passed around the table. I'd recommend drinking these, probably right in the sweet spot as the tannins are very supple.
This has come a long way in the past 18 months. Previously scored it a 90. Delicious, full bodied zin. Tobacco and leather nose. Bright berry upfront. Soft tannins, great smooth finish. Drink now. Well done, Michael Talty!

When I tasted this at the winery, I described it as like a date that sits on your lap and starts kissing your ear on the first date. It's irresistible, but it might not be the thing for the long haul. Although this still has more of burgundy--okay, maybe I am suggestible because of the bottle shape--than huge DCV Zins usually do, it's easy, plush, seductive... And it's got a little less complexity than Talty's usual. For flavors, ucsbmullet is on the money--starts a little tart, then just builds and rolls. Now, with a little more age, the tannins are just like silk panne--velvety and silky at once. Mouthwatering indeed.

The nose was intense and expressive with toasty almond, sweet spices, blackberry jam, raisins and a sour cream note that added a savory balance to all the sweetness. On the palate, it was smooth as silk yet juicy with black cherry, spices and dark chocolate. It was remarkably balanced throughout and finished long yet clean.

Dark, brambly berries oozes out the glass upon first smell. Slightly tart upon first taste but flavor builds as it rolls across the tongue, finishing strong, leaving my mouth watering. Blackberries, black tea, but with bright flavor and fruitiness. A slight hint of creaminess on the finish. This is Dry Creek Zin at its best. Originally tasted at the winery in July of 2010. The wine is just a bright and tasty in Aug. 2011. Huge thumbs up!!!

Decanted for 90 minutes and was wonderful. Balanced forward fruit and well integrated tannins. At 15% the wine was not at all hot.

Excellent Russian River zin. Well balanced with medium to dark fruit, blueberry and blackberry. Medium tannins and nice layers of complexity.

Light in body but still packing plenty of sweet cherry flavor and aroma. The more I drink Talty the more I like his style of zin

Still showing that distinct Talty flavor profile, which I love. Sorry to say it's my last bottle.

Silky tannins, bright red fruit with delightful golden raisin notes. This is a wonderfully representative Dry Creek Zin. Rockin'

Fantastic - one of my favorite Zins. Traditional dry farming gives it a unique flavor.
