Did you ever find a bottle in your cellar and think to yourself "where the hell did this come from?" Well, this is that bottle, I have no clue but it showed up on a search of cabernet and was ripe for the pickings. Took this to a holiday party where it was promptly consumed.
Dark color, hints of charcoal. Nose of cassis and medium toasted oak. It certainly reflected the cabernet heritage with a bit of old school California sauvignon. Tannins are rounded out but acid still holds everything together. Silky mouthfeel and medium short finish.

this is drinking quite well. Open and decanted. It took about half an hour to start to come around, and continued to improve for the couple hours the bottle was open. dark fruits and sonoma cab earthiness on the nose and palate. Tannins were abundant but in balance, suggesting this could go longer. 90-91

See first note on this wine. Its a bit more tasty now, developing nicely and is around 90 the tannin very soft now and supportive of the structure of the wine

Tasted blind. Nose -gorgeous nose or red and dark fruit, toast, mint. mouth - rich dark fruit, cassis, good concentration, good midpalate of plum and dark cherry, still considerably tannic. Yum stuff. My WOTN. 91+

Interesting Cabernet with a subtle nose of berry and the sea. The body is medium to full, the fruit up front with a sharp tart tannin on the rear. This will be better once the tannin mellows a little further as it ages in the bottle. 88 but may get better with age

Very dark saturated blackberry/plum/cherry fruit....tannic and dry. Needs serious time! Has some nice cherry cordial, cedar spice, anise, charcoal.....and big vanilla American oak(not obnoxious). A little bit too dry and tannic to drink now(this is even from day 2)....but has the makings of a killer Winemaker's...just needs 5+ more years. +pts

A friend brought this over to go with tri-tip. Wow...a big wine, but the aforementioned tannins are now in balance. Can I find more?

Nice balance of fruit, oak, and acid. Enjoyable tannins. Not over-oaked, but maybe at the limit. Lady loved it -- TeeDow!
