Fighting of corona-depression, this works (with a bit of gorgonzola), deep, layered, balanced, caramelized with a good swirp of acidity. Impeccable balance.

Great sweet wine. I love Kracher's TBAs (my favorite: Scheurebe) due to their complex aromas and the high acidity keeping the sweetness in check. This wine was no exception, although not as fresh as some younger vintages. Nevertheless, great for one or two small glasses.
TN: Nose a bit muted at first, opening up a little but clearly lacking the sensation of the palate and finish where you get quince, apricots, lemons, lots of tropical fruit, honey, some cranberries. Luscious wine, with a very high acidity keeping this full-bodied, mouthcoating wine in balance and keeping it light. Very precise, complex and deep and a long finish.
Decanting: No decant needed. There is enough acidity left for 10+ years.

Blind Tasting in Astoria: Kracher is Kracher. Sorry Jay - the bottle was too obvious. reminds me of a good aszu. rich, mango-peach-apricot compote. this is just plain good.

Chablis Les Clos night + an addictive and most impressive Scheurebe BA: Amber colour. In the nose, this smells like concentrated pear juice, there are some dried apricots as well, nutty notes, raisins, some botrytis. It's appealing, very appealing in fact. On the palate, this is concentrated, very sweet, oily, but it finishes with enough acidity, freshness and spiciness to not get one-dimensional. The finish is long. Very, very good in fact.

Very deep copper amber colour with an intense, kind of heavy nose revealing caramel, candied apricots and raisins with no oak evident. Luscious with more than 300g/lt rs that are in general well balanced by high acidity(although is difficult to describe acidity with these rs) and low alcohol. A great dessert wine but too sweet for my taste. Can keep for many years.

Kracher vs. Yquem (Scala Restaurant, Renaissance Hotel, Wan Chai, Hong Kong): Tasted blind. Deep burnished dark maple gold colour. Nice nose of high-tone , lifted acidity followed by slightly damp socks and beautifully ripe bananas. Palate stops you in its tracks with its cavity-probing sweetness. Very high sugar levels but actually it carries them off surprisingly well. I enjoyed this the most of the Krachers (except for the one I thought was incredibly old D'Yquem). My #4 of the night. This or the 1998 Kracher #13 would be the ones I'd introduce to someone who hasn't tried these wines before.

orange gold with a nose of apricot and raisin. Tasted rich, luscious and beautifully sweet. Hard to say which Kracher, the traminer I had a while back or this one, was better but both were excellent

Much lighter in color (still primarily golden) than the #12 from 2002. Very clean, refreshing apricot and honey, not as viscous as many Krachers (including the #12), but a nice appearance of that apricot skin that I often find in good Sauternes. Delightful. I plan to hide the rest of these from myself for at least 2-3 years (it's the only way to keep me from drinking them!), as this is one of the few Krachers I've had that actually seemed 'young' to me.

Dinner at Meme (Philadelphia): viscous elixir that completely coats your mouth -- ridiculously sweet, this is perfectly balanced with plenty of acidity. Honey, peach, candied mango. The finish goes forever -- the only way to stop it is to take another tiny sip. Phenomenal.

Bob Gaynor - Night of Excess!: Wow. This is stunning stuff. Endless and layered aromas. Rich, sweet apricot, orange and citrus fruits. Tons of honey. Well balanced.

always get confused…#8, #10, #12? There are a bunch of these in the cellar, but it seems I grabbed the wrong one. I thought I read on cellar tracker that a couple of people thought this was a near 100-pt wine. But it wasn’t a big hit this night.

Fourth impression: the finish continues to amaze, with at least a minute of soft sweetness. This time, however, the honey was a little less complicated than before, and I found myself missing that little bit of funk from a Sauternes (in other words, it tasted amazing, but simple, without the overnotes). The color is definitely darker, and I look forward to some of sweetness receeding and seeing what other flavors emerge.

Dinner w/ Friends (Cotes du Rhone - Chicago, IL): Flirting with perfection! Huge and expressive nose has tropical fruits, peaches, honey and botrytis. Rich, lush and round fruits are copiously slathered across the palate. Unbelievable dense concentration and still balanced. Penetrating, lifted and long finish. Awesome.

The finish is infinite! Each sip is a delight, sweetness bouncing through many different nuances of taste (pineapple, lychee, raisins, honey, honeysuckle...the list goes on and on).

Cloying sweetness of honey, peach, mango, passion fruit but nicely intertwined with acidic freshness of lemon and tangerine. Great stuff.

Tasting of Some High End and Unique Wines (Meme (22nd and Spruce in Philadelphia)): Really delicious. Very sweet. Viscous. Light brown color. Acidity keeps this propped up. Sweet apple juice. Good but on the simpler side. Nice consistent finsih.
