Big wine. Needed a solid two hour decant. Still not a ton of fruit showing - it's all hidden by massive tannins and high alcohol structure. There's some serious earth, black olive, tar and rustic raspberries. Still really tight, maybe closed down, maybe just disjointed on the finish. Didn't love this too much - and at $65 on some lists, probably not worth the coin.

Better then previous bottles, the wine was more in balance with some spices and nice dark fruit. Having that said, it still lacked some acid and still too much alcohol in the aftertaste.

Just not that interesting. Nothing wrong with it per se, just that it only tasted like "red wine." Very one dimensional. Was not helped/hindered with aeration. Disappointed since I've really liked past vintages.

Ripe ruby colour. Intensive fruity aroma of ripe forest fruit, blueberries, blackberries with a hint of black tea. On the palate full of fruit, elegant, with soft and delicate tannins and moderate acidity. Nice aftertaste.

Dissapointing wine. A bit closed, warm, bold one dimensional flavour profile (a bit "boers"), It left me quite indifferent. Will not touch my last bottle for at least a year or so (but my hopes are not that high...)

Tasted blind – Opened and served right away. Medium ruby, clear throughout. Nose of ripe red fruits, eucalyptus, some black pepper. Flavours of dark cherries and spice. Medium body, medium acidity, light to medium tannin. Boozy medium length finish. Average.

This was a poor Tempranillo that tasted super young and green. Did get hints of cherries. I don't know if time would help this one. Very tart and acidic. At this stage in the game I wouldn't recommend or drink.

Clean, very ripe nose, lots of confected fruits, mild oakd and light pepper. the palate is dry, medium + acid with massive sweet dark berry flavors, rounded accesable tannins and a light stoneyness. Spice and light oak round out the less then exciting palate. moderate alc, med + body short finish. Average quality, less than exciting and showing over the top fruit with no complexity. Drink now - 2009

Chicago Spanish Offline (Habana Libre): Nose of muted berries, slight mint component. On the tongue was some good red fruit, slightly candied flavors. It was good up until that point, then swallowing brought a finish that felt awkward and weak. I liked most of it, but felt that it slacked off with an ending that didn't live up to how much I liked the nose and initial flavors.

taste: filled with cherry and vanilla. good texture on the palate, but flavors are simple and provide little depth or secondary flavors
overall: simple and decent. Good structure, but with the flavor profile I don't know how it will age. New world fans will like this, but this doesn't act like a toro at all, which bothers me

Decanted for over an hour. Still too spicy for me but it did mellow by the last glass. Giving it a bit more time...

Initial spice and fruit on the nose with a hint of tomato. Nice medium body that went great with Bolognese Spaghetti.

Bit of a fruit bomb, unstructured but with a tannic finish. Not bad, but not for me.
