Surprised to see such low scores here - this was delicious and very much the wine of the night. From the wine list at the NOMAD Rooftop, decanted and poured. Fragrant red berries and earth with a bit of funk. Silky light mouth texture and elegant red fruits and earth on the palate. Really lovely!
K&L Loire Tasting (Spring 2015) (K&L Hollywood): I really enjoyed this, and it was probably my favorite red at the tasting (of 3 wines though). Much less vegetal cab franc than the previous wine. Some smoke and earth on the nose, but it seemed like the fruit was attenuated. A hint of creaminess on the palate with nice black pepper notes and a pretty, well-structured finish. A hint of bricking on the edges, but still deep red. This would have been wonderful with the right food, and it seems like it would evolve nicely in the glass.

Disagree with most notes and scores available for this wine/vintage.
Earthy cherries, leather, poivre, some brett. Delicious fruit, a bit more concentrated and confected than it should and has a slightly bitter finish with dusty tanins. Overall great bottle of CF that has already shed its baby fat but still needs tine do evolve.

This is still a very young wine: the color, nose and tightness of palate says it’s so. With tight but abundant scents of sandalwood and bell pepper on the attack, the mouthfeel is lean, but balanced. The finish is more limestone and wet schist, than of fruit. The short, somewhat clunky finish distracts. Whether time will permit improvement is anyone’s guess, but this winemakers deserves the benefit of the doubt. With marinated round (beef) steak. Recommended anticipating continued improvement.

Well coloured; attractive leafiness, graphite yet simple; fresh, crunchy fruit, has a pleasing snap, mid-weight; signs of drying out on finish, a bit scrawny. Best to drink up over short term.

Quite a young wine, still very purple with a medium body. Good acidity balances the fine tannins. Spicy nose with a very fresh mouthfeel. Lots of red fruit and some minerality on the finish.

Fading, garnet, orange rim; simple, innocuous, iron filings, gravy granules; soft, easy, easy going; drying out on one dimensional finish. Drink now.
