Beautiful soft aromas of blackberry, cassis and slight leather. Still going strong with bright acidity and berry on the palate with a nice black tea finish. There’s enough tannins and acid to keep this train going!

Still has time left. Opened bottle as it was toward end of drinking scale. Still took a couple of hours to open
The wine looks inky colored. The legs are medium. There is moderate sediment in the bottle. It smells like mineral, stoniness, lead pencil and cherry. It tastes like lead pencil and alcohol/hot. The body is full. The wine has narrow texture. The wine finishes long. The wine has high acidity.

I was surprised that a 2005 wine would have this much tannin to it. Really benefits from a couple hours+ of decanting. But very well structured. I got a some tobacco and "pencil shaving" notes to it rather than anything herbal or fruity. Best served with rich foods.

We tasted this at a friends 6/10/12 steak and cabernet dinner. It had a dense, ripe bouquet of black currant, blackberry, black cherry, smoke, cedar and spice aromas. The palate was also dense, ripe and dry with flavors of toast, cocoa, black currant, blackberry and spice.

Dark purple. Nose of smoke, blackberry, cassis, and cedar. Ripe full palate of blackberry, licorice, and oak. Excellent finish. Nice acidity. Grippy tannins. Very youthful.

Popped and poured. Dark purple. Nose of smoke, blackberry, cassis, and cedar. Ripe full palate of blackberry, licorice, graphite, minerals, and toasty oak. Excellent finish. Nice acidity. Grippy tannins. Still youthful. Might be better with another year or two in the cellar to absorb the tannins.

This is a really nice wine that is medium to full bodied. Really nice sweet fruit taste, but be warned, its very tannic now. It needs lots of air time or more preferably several years in the cellar. It was better the second day than the first.

This wine needs a few more years in the bottle. Decanted for an hour. More of a food wine, which went well with the steak. Plenty of acid and balance. Very dark and some tannic structure to it. Not a blockbuster but a nice wine to pair with red meat.

Warm, rich wine that provided a mouthful of blackberry, tobacco and cinammon. The peppery finish was long and smooth with tangy currant on the back palate. Its well balanced with enough tannin structure to improve over the next few years. We had this with dark chocolate, but believe it would really shine with a juicy steak.

Still a few years to go, robust colour, firm tannins with a hint of dust, long and ripe oaky fruit

This wine has staying power. Lots of life left. I popped and poured - it could have used a decanter.

Dark, intense, brooding. Nose a blend of dark fruit and cedar. Nicely balanced with acidity holding through a long, long finish

Deep dark fruit w/ some structure/tannins, and oak. Pretty good value in the mid $30's.
