Open That Bottle Night 2018 (Johns Creek, GA): Darker gold, poor cork and possibly some seepage; while showing a touch more oxidative this was by no means oxidized, bruised apple gave way to lots of peach and apricot, some spicy pineapple suggested some botrytis, interesting herbs and minerals, definitely Auslese texture though lighter on its feet; solid.

6th of 12, pnp, compressed and much travelled cork, level ok, as October note. Just about F (17.5)....probably to be drunk over next 5 years as losing freshness.

3rd of 12, pnp, perfect cork and level, previous notes since 14 fine - surprisingly pale yellow, lightly leggy; attractive fresh apple, pear, touch of kerosene, pure, quite complex; light/medium, rich, off dry, long and complex, refreshing, youthful still. Fine (17.5).

Nice golden color. Surprising herbal notes that I wouldn't expect in a Riesling, but not in a bad way, along with some green apple. Nice sweetness and viscosity in the mouth.

Gourmet Dinner #5 (Algonquin, Illinois): Opened at gourmet dinner #5. 500ml bottle. Golden yellow color. Carmel aromas. Lush with an herbal quality. Creamy and silky texture. Medium sweetness. The acidity was a little low for me. I think others at the dinner liked this more than I did. 90 points.

Darker colour and feels very tired though with a little meyer lemon zing and a slight incense/spiciness. Limped along and not particularly enjoyable.
