In the bouquet minerals, maybe a slight touch of petrol, peach, citrus and smoke. On the palate a good concentration, tasty and focused. Still some pineapple, also minerals, some spiciness as well. Good balance with a slight touch of sweetness and firm good acidity. A little bit of grapefruit bitterness in the finish. A mature wine and it will drink nicely over the next 3+ years.

A good dry Riesling, though not a great one. There's plenty of very ripe peach and citrus fruit, some solid underlying minerality and the acid balance is fine. I just do't get much in the way of length. It starts out very tasty, but drops off too quickly.

Golden Colour; complex nose with a touch of petrol; shows some ripeness, the primary fruit is gone, but that's no problem, it is complex, all in harmony, powerful, with lots of minerality, a long finish.

Starts out slightly austere with an intense mineral character dominating; all rocks and seawater, but with time gains richness and picks up exotic tropical flavours of pineapple, melon and lychee with a jab of tart grapefruit on the back end before finishing with another wave of seawater and rocks. Really fun to sit down and follow this over a couple of hours. Great value at $30 from Crush.

Awesome nose of metal shavings, minerals, spicy white fruits, melon and hints of pineapple. Very tropical and fruit-driven for a trocken with lots of pineapple, lime and melon flavours on the palate over a bed of minerals, filling out in weight and richness with air and finishing long and almost dry, showing a touch of glyceral sweetness on the back end.

Monthly Tuesday group "The Dead Sparrow" #020: Riesling Grosses Gewächs (By JdB): Beautiful and a bit rustic bouquet with minerals, tropical fruits and polishing wax. On the palate tropical fruits, butter, beautiful balance between acidity and sweetness. Complex, harmonious and delicious wine.

Packed with minerals and tropical fruit. Clearly residual sugar present. Very elegant. Long.
