served 30 minutes after decanting. Still a little 'hot' on the palate, a little sharp, with nice notes of potpourri, forest, ripe fruit, black cherries, and cassis. After almost 3 hours in the decanter, this was showing some leather, smoke, and eucalyptus. Pretty nice.

A nose of dark fruits and spice, dark purple in color. A medium to full bodied red blend, with blackberry, black cherry, dust and spices on finish, very good, drink now. www.winelx.com

From Magnum: Decanted for 3 hours. The black and blue fruits are overripe and intense but not jammy, with some mocha and sweet vanilla Oak and a few dried herbs after mid palate. The alcohol took a while to blow off, but once it did, the wine hit its stride. In this format, the wine was at the very front end of its drinking window with another 10 years to go.

This wine took only about 15 minutes in the glass to fully open. Layers of dark chocolate covered black and blue fruits dominate, and the rich color of the wine matches. Some vanilla Oak lies underneath and adds some elegance. A very smooth, like melted dark chocolate. The finish is 20+ seconds. Almost no sediment. The wine, however, has a bit of a flash of alcohol and the alcohol does creep up on you by the end of the bottle, which took this otherwise excellent bottle down a notch.

Big ang heavy. Started out a little unbalanced in favor of alcohol. Dark chocolate dominates. Gradually it mellows, but I just cannot get over the sweet aftertaste.

Decanted for 2+hours which helped really open up this wine. Big, dark with good red and black fruit and well integrated tannins without being too big (has some good chewiness). Has a lot of life left in it.

4 hour decant, this is really in a nice place once it was given time to open up. Big, thick, dark, smooth, amazing aromatics, lots of fruit, and chewy but nicely integrated tannins.

Big, heavy, and does not taste like a cheap red, but not entirely enjoyable. Medicine, chocolate, Cameral with not lot fruit left. Probably on its way down already. Should be better with red meat and grilled fairs.

Upon first opening it was slightly hot and tannic. 6 hours in the decanter made a huge difference. The wine smoothed out dramatically and the alcohol became well integrated. Black and blue fruits, some vanilla Oak, and dried herbs. Long finish.

Decanted 4 hours. Barnyard Bordeaux scent on nose. Opened up with tobacco, mocha & hint of green pepper. Muted fruit of dry cherry. A bit disappointing at this time, could be in a funky drink window.
Excellent Red bottling. First we've tried. This picked up thru sale. The nose was somewhat muted upon open an first pour, some sour cherry, rhubarb and hints of cedar. The frontal attack had loads of dark dusty cocoa, and rich berry that really peeked on the mid-palatte with a wonderful finish. The tannins are not fully integrated and the balance is really nice. We had with fresh noodles and meatballs, and this actually paired really well.

Big choc and dark fruit on the tongue. Cedar and vanilla undertones. Dark and jammy, with balanced tannins. Altogether a delightful wine and pleasant surprise.

(B+) Big nose, plenty of chocolate and mocha characteristics. Big ripe fruit. A bit hot on the front palate, the fruit is unmistakably blue/black front front to back, without deviation. Finishes wonderfully, but hard to ignore the flab up front. Perhaps more balance will come with time. Hold.

(B+) The nose is huge, with vanilla, cocoa, ripe fruit, and barrel room. Jammy and ripe up front with an undertone of warm spice and a bit of blue/black berries. Well structured, it glides across the palate and has a lingering finish. Has an underlying complexity that is tough to pinpoint. Silky tannins. Memorable wine.

as a gross generalization, i don't like syrah/merlot (or any other bordeaux varietal) mixers, but this has some nice blended flavors to recommend it. like the h hudson block, it's a little tannic, but not harsh. hold for a couple of years. pricey.
