I would say this wine has gained a touch of elegance ( for a Bandol) and will be liked more for those looking for a polished wine. Still one of the best Bandol I have had. Lovely nose and earthy, leathery flavors with an enjoyable, satisfying finish.

In a really good place. Glad I saved the wine and gave it time to evolve. The tannins had resolved and are really well integrated. Lush and lasting finish. The wine is in a great place. Give a 30 min decant and it will be ready to go.

This is drinking beautifully right now. It’s very aromatic with a mix of garrigue, Black olive tapenade, some cherry fruit but mostly secondary characteristics at this point. There is a sweetness like the Grenache fruit on the first sip and then it gets more savory. Would not have guessed this is 85% Mourvèdre. The tannins are almost resolved. It still tastes quite fresh. Great bottle at a great place to drink now. No real rush but if you have this it is worth opening one now.

The perfect Bandol. In a wonderful place. Perfectly balanced. Amazing wine. Will last for many years. Perhaps better than my single vineyard Tempier. But Kermit L. knows that.

Just as good as my prior review, holding up nicely. One of my favorite Bandols. Tasted it at a dinner party with seven others and multiple other bottles and I thought it was the wine of the night.

This wines is drinking wonderfully. It has a wonderful Bandol gaminess. I have had many vintages of this wine and quite a few at lunch and tastings at the winery. This is one of their best. A great example of Bandol and fine winemaking. Earth, leather with a hint of funk, maybe a little brett, which I love and miss so much from current CDP.

This wine is pleasurable to drink, but it does not seem to be a great example of Bandol, or even a very good one. The vintage had to make it hard - ripe ripe ripe. The wine, however, is listed as only 13% alcohol, which is impressive if true, and seems like it is true based on the taste and mouth-feel. The fruit it ripe, spicy, and delicious, but there is little of the telltale Mourvedre gaminess, not a lot in terms of complexity, and the finish tails off in a pronounced way. Good wine, but not a compelling example of Bandol.

These wines need age and often have long dormant periods. However, the 05 are shining right now. One of the top producers in the region, this wine has all of the traditional Mouvedre hallmarks, dark spice, garrique of wild thyme, sage, black olive, rosemary, and solid dark berry fruit with a hint of black pepper. Perfect with lamb and other Med flavors -- olives, capers, anchovy, tomat.

Plenty of fresh fruit. Mostly sweet cherry and a little blueberry. I was always aware of the terroir - Mushroom, soil, and the fruit blended together to form delicious wine. With mild tannins one does not expect the finish to last long, but it does, hangining on the palate for minutes. A very surprising and excellent wine.

The first half of the bottle was very enjoyable, with wild musky animal mourvedre smells mixed with dark sour cherry, and pleasant medium weight (for Bandol) structure in the mouth. The second half of the bottle it shut down hard, with only tannin and acid discernible. I think this is very promising, but hold for right now.

Medium ruby. You can almost smell the tannin along with a lot of cocoa. Not that large scaled, clean fruit (unlike some Bandols we know), drying tannic finish. Savory and good, although a little severe at this point. Better with food though.

PnP: nose was mostly closed down with a mild funk. The body was mostly cherry liquor and a heavy damp earth-like flavor on the midpalate. After several hours in the decanter the funk blew off and the overwhelming cherry flavor faded enough to pick up on the other complexities. Great balance with a number of different fruits and a pleasant earthy component. Tannins remain strong, maybe a little too strong at this stage. I should buy more.

A little pleasant barnyard in the bouquet. Ripe red as well as black fruits in the bouquet as well as the taste. The fruit is fresh and the tannin and acidity is mild and pleasant. So much better than the 2006! Drink now and the next 4 years.

Complex nose of raspberries and herbs, some leather, perhaps a bit of shoe polish or tar. Medium body, with nice fruit--raspberries and tart cherries, and very long. Acidity carries it well. Wish I had cases of this stuff. bargain at $30 in my opinion. Did I say long??

Deep ruby in colour this one is quite ripe, boasting an array of prune and cherry offset by tobacco and earth, coffee and powerful notes of blackpepper. Medium bodied with lovely acidity. Juicy and soft, round and well balanced with a medium length of finish.

Tart raspberries, licorice, spice, super long finish. Touch of vanilla and meat. Great mouthfeel. Sweet tannins. Great balance. Clean. Tense but not challenging? Zippy, juicy but not thin. Like ripe chinon. Reallly dig this. Want more! Great acidity. Savory. Unsweetened choc. Better in 2 years.

Nose: dark red fruit, spice. Palate: tight, sour cherry fruit. Nice mouthfeel, strong tannins. Long finish. I get a strange note of ripe apple skin as well. If I had another bottle of this I would let it rest at least 5 years. As it is today, it is pretty tasty but I feel like it will have a lot more to say down the road. I like the QPR of this wine @ $23. (90-91).
