Vouvray vs Champagne: Just so tasty. Round, caramel and dusty fruits on the nose and palate. Pure pleasure and at top form. Excellent and best QPR you can find.

Presents beautifully the way it holds itself in the glass with its fine bead and fresh colour. It has a little mushroom and toast development along with fresh fruit flavours including something that resembles freshly cut pineapple. There's just the right amount of sweetness from the dosage coming through and it is creamy and mouthfilling with good minerally precision to the finish.

This is a good Champagne--mid gold and more developed than expected. The acidity not at all prominent. Creamy, almost easy drinking. Perhaps not as "serious" or ageworthy as expected, but that shouldn't detract.

An open nose of stone fruit, ripe lemon and baked apple, butter, liquorice, rich almond cookie autolysis, toffee and oak. Dry palate with ripe fruit, carrying acidity and smooth moussé. Mushroomy notes, crytallized lemon, cream and slight cappucino toast. Long. Just a beautiful Champagne starting to show some aged charm without loosing a bit of it's driving force.

Tasted blind. Kiwi, apple strudel. Drinking well now, expansive and with ample acidity. Starting to hit its stride and has plenty of years ahead of it.

Very impressive and highly developed nose. Palate was a tad too acidic. Needs time and will go up a few points over the years. Will definitely stock up.

Honey, apricot, melon and nuts on the nose. Some yeast intially, but that soon dissipates. On the palate similiar impressions with some added lemon. Medium+ acid. Could be more complex but very good as it is.

Rather deep lemon yellow. Apple and apricot nose with notes of brioche, wool, mushrooms and chalky earth. Dry, medium bodied and refreshingly acidic palate with a lively smooth moussé. Aromatically pretty much follows the nose. Long and refreshing aftertaste with some more toasty notes. Balanced and enjoyable though young.

Popped in celebration of my first PhD student defending his thesis. At first notes of toasted bread which with airtime changed into sweaty socks (!). The taste was of crispy apples, nice acidity, and very enjoyable. This was my first vintage champagne and I liked it.

The opener at JB's epic on 30 Dec 08. Fresh, lemony nose with some custard. On the tongue it was mainly apples but still with a subtle, custardy finish. Pleasantly dry with just the right amount of zing.

Haven't got much of a clue about champagne but I took this to a dinner party and the consensus was that it was a lovely drop - tight, crisp and with a few years to go to maturity yet.

From magnum. High acidity, bone dry. Lemons and slightly yeasty toast. Very good but could have used a bit more time in the cellar, actually.

So pale and un-developed. A little toast on the nose but mostly limey, apply fruit. Some weight to the palate. Refreshing. V good. No rush.

Bready, silky, smoky and full bodied. Mature and ready to drink. Opened it on the 31st of December. Cheers!

Apple and toast, yes. But the acid was too much and dominated the long aftertaste.

Very though on the nose and in the taste, almost only minerals. Needs several more years of cellaring to develop itself.
