Decided to open this with a regular tasting partner (experienced) to get another impression: light golden again; mature and showing yellow orchard fruit; as it opens up, a real stony mineral streak and nice citric acidity kicks in. Really nice structure and balance. Tasting partner guessed it to be just about every commune in burgundy EXCEPT Chablis. We had a good laugh about it but this bottle was showing beautifully, even though not classic Chablis in style after 10+ years.

Tried another bottle to see if last one was truly representative. This one much fresher, saline and citric. Simply delicious and quite ready, will keep drinking my way through these. Looks like I bought 10 of these and 2 of the Les Clos.

Medium golden hue; very open, ripe, baked apple nose with some hints of oxidation; very ripe golden apple and honeyed palate, then some fairly convincing citrus - like acidity washes through to balance things and carry on to a nice fullish and somewhat long finish. Drink-up time on this one nonetheless.

Quiet but nuanced nose buttressed by lemon oil. The equally solid but gentle flavors are balanced with precision between grass, petrol, more lemon, flower petals, and candy corn. Just wonderful. And we were looking hard for a pairing with the chicken soup we’ve been tending all day, from the first bird roasted in our new oven, and this most definitely worked.

Richer in style. Along with some oyster-like flavors, the reduction or oak (maybe?) produced some nice savory tones. Tasty, but a bit monolithic and lacking finesse and minerality when tasted alongside a Fevre of the same vintage/vineyard.

Limited redemption after the disappointing GC red burgs that preceded. Grand cru density of fruit; a bit less focused than a bottle of Les Clos I had last year. More fruit driven than mineral, proper but not exceptional.

Very disappointing bottle! Despite the high expectations, this wines' aromas were waxy and opaque, really the only thing that made its way through the blurry bouquet was oak seasoning. On the palate, the wine was shockingly thin and empty, the acid attacking the palate in a staccato kind of way, the minerality almost totally hidden behind an unpleasant bitterness and finally, the non-existent fruit on the mid-palate made this wine seem hollow. Maybe a flawed bottle?

Super GC creamy richness...crisp lemon/lime acidity, sea shore minerality, green apples, slight honey.....zero oak, but has a cream to it, and a little smokiness, that makes it seem like its seen some. Plenty of verve and minerals to make this a great Chablis.

Green apples, salty minerality, richness in nose. In mouth very nice, combining smooth richness with good acidity. Finish was good, showing a slightly nutty character after some time.
This young GC is quite approachable and enjoyable at this moment, more so then the MdT. 92+

Pear and baked apple, lemon drop; supple character, rich with ample minerality. Nice finish
