Woodenhead and the Wiley vineyard in Anderson Valley are such a good compliment to each other. I don't see much about the producer and I don't know why. This wine is light, bright, unfined, and unfiltered. It has pure light red fruit, a little spice and bread box, soil, and a light dose of slightly resiny box. Damn delicious now but will definitely improve.

Spicy fruit forward nose. Reminded me of a good Rioja at first. Quite jammy but in a very elegant and balanced style. Deep cherry flavours, lovely finish. Wish I had more.

Similar to the last tasting. Big Pinot with more syrah like qualities. It actually dominated a 13 year old st emillion in day 2 with just corking oustside the cellar so you know this one is big. I suggest hiding this for another couple of years or so to let it calm down and maybe open it with a couple of hours of decanting in the meantime.

Best of the reds last night at Mr Chow's. Decanted for 2 hours. Good bouquet and fruit. Much more so, and better, than the 02 Clos de Tart! Also preferred it to the 09 Cornas which seemed to harsh for Syrah.

Agree that this is a wine requiring decanting for several hours. It changed substantially over two plus hours. Still, earth and floral tones dominated. Big enough to compare to a syrah.

Darn, this is good wine!. Natural and pure, this one actually took a day in a re-corked bottle to become something. Limpid, but less so than the 2002, beautiful red color, with a pretty nose of strawberry, forest fruits and berries, rain forest-like aromas as well. A very natural mouthfeel with bright fruit driven red fruits, with a granite mineral backbone. Very nice and recommended.

Back to School in the Cellar (The Restaurant at Kellogg Ranch): Big bright jammy fruit on the nose. Juicy palate showing big dark berry fruits with notes of fruit skins and a light grip. More forward than expected given the maker.
