Appealing dark fruit nose and earth. The palate is dark fruit, a tinge of olive, cassis and cedar. A well structured wine with a silky smooth long and lingering finish. No signs of fading currently but plan on 1 1/2-2 hours of breathing in the glass before really enjoying it.

Excellent wine. Notes of leather and lotion predominate upon opening but a few minutes of air add forest and cedar over lush mixed berries. The palate is well balanced with soft fine grained tannins and acidity wrapping fresh and sweet berries that are accented with dusty and spicy notes. A pleasure.

good wine, a little surprised this wasn't as good as some of their other named vineyard cabs. I believe that they have bought more land to bottle estate version of this now. coffee, earthiness, tobacco finish

Took an hour or so to open up. Nice fruit and balance. Can sense the 4% Cab Franc. I'm not sure that waiting any longer on this one will improve the wine.

Medium-bodied and a touch trim, in a food friendly kind of way. Red and black fruit, some spice, and a good finish. Could use some more delineation on the midpalate, but an enjoyable bottle nonetheless.

Very smooth and mellow. Excellent complexity with black and blue fruit shining through. Medium finish, leaving you wanting more. Outstanding, if a bit young still. This will drink very well for the next 10+ years.

drank over a couple hours. I just thought it was lacking a little in the middle, the fruit was just not there for me. This is a smooth medium body wine with a dusty nose and finish.

I originally tabbed this a 94, but in a fit of irrational exuberance I'm going to kick it up. What a pleasant surprise this bottle was. The concentration was fantastic. Tons of smooth fruit with Rutherford-dusty tannins holding it all together. A friend shared a glass of '04 Sloan with me last year, and the first taste of the F-L immediately brought that to mind. Not cheap at 70 bucks a bottle, but it is easily bringing three-figure bang for the buck.
