nice acidity yet not tart or overwhelming, paired with quiche. nose of bread, yeast and tropical fruits, medium to full bodied BdB, good weight, balance and long finish, a great champagne for less than $40.

Had this with ahi sashimi at home last night. My third or fourth bottle, and I am concerned at how this wine has been progressively showing tired and over the hill. Creamier than I remember it two years ago and lacks the zing I used to get in this bottling. Some of the bubbles are lost, too, and it has a slightly flat and fat tactile expression. Decent apple fruit and a touch of lemon...some crushed limestone...Not holding up well and in need of consumption...already past peak, and this is no longer nearly as good as it used to be. Shame.

With appetizer of Valentine Day dinner. Fresh and zingy, but maybe a touch oxdized/madeirized. Still pretty tasty, rich and creamy, but this wine was more evolved than other bottles I've had. Good, but not great.

Great bottle of bubbles. Toasty nose with some brioche. Mouth full of green apple, nutty, with some caramel at the finish. Nice rich color with tiny tiny bubbles.

Heavier and very full on the palate for a BdB. Very mild toast on the front and finished really kind of different with a tarty appleness that really went on and on. Nice for the price.

So good! Rich and elegant. powerhouse of flavor, yeasty. All grand cru chardonnay. Incredible value. don't want to write about it because I want to buy more. In 2-3 years can see this getting a 93-95 score.

great nose of honey, baked apricot, bread, yeast and some hints of candied pear. the bubbles are small and last long after the pour. great balance of acidity and classic blanc de blanc yeast and honey citrus flavors. slight petrol on the flavor as well and a touch of mature fruit like an overripe peach.

Light yellow. Good mousse. Nose of yeast, roasted wheat, mature yellow fruit. Good intense flavors of yellow fruit and wheat, as well as something earthy. Really good, if not great. 2000 seems to be maturing at a rapid pace.

Pinot Cafe: Golden color; elegant and aromatic nose of buttered toast, hint maple syrup, “waffles” as L says, but not sweet at all; asian pear; frothy bubbles, focussed mth, bright acidity, searing, very long finish. Elegant, very good stuff. Excellent w/smoked salmon and crepe (b/c relatively flavorful, and so is wine--unlike the sashimi tuna). W/ L & S--Mom’s day.

Leslie Fisher in Austin (34th Street Cafe): Reliable as always. Typically young BdB with apple peel, a hint of citrus, yeasty brioche dough, and lots of minerality. For the retail of $36, this is as good s it gets for my taste,

Poured at a tasting at K&L: nice, bright, clean, crisp fruit, with the common nutiness I noticed in all of the Launois wines as well as lemon and lime components. Fair.
