Okay, this will have to be a two stage rating" as want to give it another shot after being open for day. Initial impressions, quite a bit of heat, intense spices. Not that impressed but unfair due to it not having enough chance to open and warm up a bit.

Nose was delicate and spicy with strawberry, but after that, sort of thin, and awkward rhythm to this wine. Earth, acidic without that much body. Like a badly played Bela Bartok piece. I wanted this wine to be more than it was.

Dundee Hills Passport Weekend; 4/17/2010-4/18/2010 (Dundee Hills Oregon): Dark cherries show on the nose along with a bit of heat. The texture on the beginning and mid palate is well done, with light cherry and spice flavors showing through. Some heat shows on the palate as well, but the acidity is solid throughout the experience.

I immediately noticed the spice. This is bolder than most Pinot Noirs I have tried, but not as acidic as I would have expected from a spicier wine. Very good!

A nice winery to hit on our way out of Willamette Valley with different wines for different price points. This was a little bit on the high end for us but Teresa really liked the spicy plum smell that danced on the sides of her tongue and I thought it would go really well with burgers.

Popped and poured. Ruby colored with a cherry and strawberry nose. Flavors match the nose with a touch of spice and an acidic finish. Not especially rich or complex, but correct pinot flavors and overall very enjoyable. Not much upside to waiting on longer this. Very good QPR.

Dark colored with a medium body, smooth mouthfeel and full dark fruit flavors of cherry, plum and spice. Despite its low cost, it is a very solid and lush wine. I enjoyed many bottles of the 2006, and the 2007 is very similar in spite of the vintage differences.

Light red in color. Spice and red fruit on nose and palate. Some earth on palate as well. A little tart at first, but did seem to soften

A light wine with spice, floral and earth. Palate is similar to the nose but acidity is too high. Medium finish.

Dundee Hills Passport Tour (Dundee Hills AVA, OR): Light red, with a nice spicy nose. Some tobacco coming through also. Fruit is bigger than expected, black cherry with a finish of leather.

Love the pinot spice and fruit to the nose. Tension on the palate. Tastes more true to pinot spice character. At $29 that works quite well.

Not offensive though not much here to keep it interesting. Some light fruit with little complexity or secondary flavors. Drink up now.
