Light body, A little orange around the edge of the glass. Aromatic blackberry and earth. Fruit jelly flavor with cola finish. This PN has held up quite nicely.

I was looking forward to enjoying my last bottle over the holiday - I really enjoyed the bottles from earlier this year and figured a weightier and spicy PN would be a nice compliment to the meal.... unfortunately this just came out thin, flat and otherwise unremarkable.
From other reviews it seems like there is a fair amount of bottle variance. Seems like the consensus is to drink 06s now, so I'd dig in and hope for the best.

Big red fruit, cherries, candied raspberries with some hints of earth, and plenty of baking spices. The palate is very rich, maybe a bit too rich and a touch hot on the back. Overall not bad, but there are better WV pinots out there.

After popping initially, this wine has a subtle yet distinctive note of lavander on the nose, very unique, very surprising. It makes me yearn for spring. Unfortunately, the experience from that point on is a tad disappointing. Medium bodied but the fruit is mostly gone. The finish is pretty flat and one-note. Not bad, but it doesn't make my stockings go up and down. If anything, I'd serve this with a dense chocolate tort or bittersweet truffles.

Grabbed these out of storage given the worrisome notes below.... I feel like it's drinking inline with where a lot of 06s are at, 375 or any other bottle. It's taken on a port-like quality on the nose - black fruit cobbler notes, caramel, mushrooms and black tea on the nose.... really enticing and rich. The fruit turns to red raspberries across the palate and gains a tartness with some oak at the finish. Finishing the last glass as I write this and digging it still.... no complaints and drinking in it's stride.

Notes reminiscent of sherry barrels and of Oregon mushrooms. Much more heat than in the past, and less of that silky mouthfeel. The wine in the half bottles is probably past its prime, and the fruit drying out. Bummer. 87-88

This wine has a spicy blackberry nose. Layers of red and black fruit on the palate along with some earth and cherry on the finish. This is tasting terrific, big and full bodied with a great mouth feel.

Wow! We are all liking this a lot. Just tasted Domaine Serene Two Barns, which was great, but we liked this one even more. Wonder how wine #3 will fare. This strawberry, cherry and earth on the nose. This wine is very big and bold, lots of fruit, spice and earth and a very long finish.

This is a huge, spicy wine. The nose is sweet dark cherries, jam, pepper, dark earth. The whole nose has this sweet, dark feel. Interesting but obviously huge. Big feel on the palate, dark red fruit, lots of pepper as someone else noted, some heat on the finish with long red fruit flavor in the finish. It's hard to argue how well done this wine is regardless of how HUGE it is, it's definitely not in balance and might turn off anyone who is looking for a typical OPN. That said, it's a tasty drink, it's just big. Totally holding on for being a 2006, drinking very well now.

Brief Willamette Valley Notes: Fantastic. Forward smoke, slight tea, red fruit but integrating. Bold and lush in the mouth with a classy feel. Now or wait short term. Very nice '06.

Powerful nose of smoke, spices & berries. Rich palate reflective of the nose, with lush texture, fine acid and polish. Great balance for 2006. Very nice right now, may improve for another year or so.

Popped and poured from 375 mL bottle- served in Riedel Vitis Pinot Noir Stem and consumed over 2 hours. On the nose the wine is very aromatic with sweet ripe cherry, fresh raspberry, cola, mocha, and a touch of heat that slowly blew off. On the palate the wine begins soft with a subtle touch of cherry cordial, but builds momentum towards the finish, but a constant theme throughout is great balance. Very fine tannins on the finish with candied cherry, earth, mocha, and black tea that lasts 30 seconds+. Nice wine- lots of fruit and a bit of heat now- I'd drink 2010-2015.

Large dark cherry notes, spices, seemed to be a little high in alcohol--a bit hot, tannins were very mellow

Too much heat on the finish, which appeared scaled down once the wine was paired with a salty dish. 86-87

Compaired to some of their other P.N. I was not a fan of this. Big fruit aroma, but a heavy pepper flavor.

Harvest moon over Willamette Valley; 9/20/2009-9/25/2009 (Willamette Valley, various wineries): 50 % Shea and the rest from Freedom Hill, Temperance Hill and Vista Hill grapes. Earthy, grassy, dark chocolate. Bold wine. I liked it.
