A shockingly strong showing, particularly on the nose. Blind tasting is definitely an exercise in humility. The guesses on the nose included Rousseau Clos St. Jacques and Roumier Ruchottes Chambertin. Sexy and racy. Hard to believe, but it really did smell wonderful and was completely resolved amd integrated and hitting an absolute peak. Palate soft and resolved as well, less density and weight but had reasonably impressive power. Best example of Trapet I’ve had.

Tasted at the WINEBID.COM 20th anniversary NYC tasting.
Among the many wines this stood out. A mouthful of stewed beef gravy with a strawberry core of sweetness....... which is an amazing play against each other. Just can't get over the earthy flavors in this one. Great balance of acidity & fruit.

Le vin présente une belle robe qui commence a s'oranger. Un équilibre parfait! Les tanins sont pleinement fondus, et la chaleur du sous bois et des fruits rouges confits monte en puissance avec une exceptionnelle longueur en bouche. Juste sublime! Du grand trapet!

4 Days 4 Great Events and lots of Parker Points; 11/14/2014-11/18/2014 (Paris & London): A young but not in anyway an austere wine, drinks very much like a good 2007 premiere rather than a Grand Cru though and it will need a few more years to develop that depth and complexity. Still at this stage, and with some decanting, it showed a nice face. Red fruits, strawberries dominate the nose and palate, light roast meat side, light roses at times. Drinks very nice ly now and will evolve into something very very good with time. 92 for now

Big spice nose, again some coffee. Round palate with vanilla and red fruit. Actually, might have been slightly oxidised I think but only just evident on the palate not the nose (didn't distract so will not NR it).

Pronounced nose with truffle, mushroom, spices, cooked red fruits, cedar. Medium acidity and tannin. Slightly dry on the palate.

Un tout petit cran en dessous de la première bouteille, le vin parait un peu plus âgé. Sinon mêmes commentaires que la précédente bouteille.

La Paulée de New York: Vertical Tasting (Colicchio & Sons - New York NY): Tasting. Red and black fruit aromas with some blue elements as well. Palate has a bit of earthy elements, overall good balance and very approachable today.

(Most of) The Burgundy Verticals Tasting at La Paulee 2013 (Colicchio & Sons, New York): Earthy. High acidity but at least more to it than its 2008 sib. Still, a delicate wine. Evocative of Gevrey in its earth and iron.

Burgundy visit, Côte de Nuits, May 2009; 5/11/2009-5/13/2009 (Burgundy, France): Tasted at the Domaine with Madame Trapet herself -- Silky and elegant, with some good cherry and ripe candied element, but a tad too much puckering tartness on the finish.
