Similar descriptor to cbkamp's review on the '08 Eroica. Amazed it held up this long. Went well w/tonight's fillet of dover sole, roasted red bell pepper, sauteed corn and herbed rice. Good acids. Spatlese style.

Wine Wednesday: Riesling Night (Willamette Wine Storage): This nose is showing the age of the wine, with a hint of something floral going on, but WD40 dominating the experience. There are some nice apple flavors left, and a hint of petrol, but overall the wine is now empty on the palate. Drink it up if you've still got some.

Advanced, but still very appealing with aromatic notes of petrol that accent a nice core of apple and rose petal flavors. This seems drier than younger ERoica with more minerality and more focused acidity.

Not as complex as some previous vintages. Initially served a bit too warm and after some chilling the wine improved from being "too much" to being just right. A decent US Riesling, and a safe bet, but there are many other wines that offer more for the money.

This is always one of the better US Reisling's. Always dependable, I was hoping that the 02 wasnt past prime. As I had hoped for, the nose was absolutely brimming with fruit; apple, pear, lemon. Palate was green apple, stony minerality and nice acidity. This wine is drinking best right now.

A couple years did some nice things for this. Nice darker gold color, just a bit cloudy, lighter body. Nose is big on honey, mineral, just a hint of lemon. Palate is nice and clean, good texture, far drier than two years ago. Nice, clean finish as well. This is drinking well right now, can't see it getting better.

TNs: Dinner at Sripraphai (Queens): if i dint see the bottle i would say this is Dr. Loosens "L" qba. and lo and behold! it is his qba, just not from Germany! focused and totaly dry, light, slight petrol and minerality on the nose. If this was selling for 10-15 it may be a buy. at closer to $20 this is a bit overpriced.

Very enjoyable yet generic. Went very well with asian food but didn't have any great qualities. Great for the ~$15 wine with dinner category, just not spectacular.

Kabinett-style weight and sweetness. Nice aromas and flavors of apple and pear. Moderate length. Not quite as good as i remember the 2001 vintage opened several times last summer.

I'm no riesling expert but thought this wine was nice and refreshing. Some have said the fruit was fading but I thought it was ample and good.

Delicious. Unctuous mouthfeel, great ripe fruit, and elegant finish -- not yet past its prime at all.

I'm a German riesling lover, and this approached a nice Mosel Kabinett. Unusual flavors were slight hint of pepper and licorice.

Very light floral nose with honey. Good mouthfeel with mineral, tropical fruits. Strong acid backbone with lemon/component. Sweet aftertaste.

Nose of pineapple, flowers, stones.
Best mouthfeel ever from a domestic Riesling. Superthick. Tropical with lemons. Long and rich.
