PnP. Lovely fragrant nose, medium bodied on the palate with red fruits, sous bois, spicy tannins. At peak. Not a big wine but classic Burgundy albeit from a delicate vintage.

Very nice wine and given the vintage quite substantial aromas and texture. Upon opening it is not very talkative nor friendly but as the hour pass by it start opening up to give a gentle sign that it in fact has much story to tell. Still rather primary and yet lush, inviting aromas of upper clef fruits, mineral, spice and lots of different shades and nuances dancing happily around the fresh tannin. Sort of wine that keeps you focused by what it tells you and its story is about refinement, uplifting and indeed elegance. Cheers,

Decanted 30 minutes. This is forward, simple, enjoyable. I would have guessed a 2000. Fully mature, easy to drink, but nothing complex and memorable. Would be a good first wine of the evening. A-

PnP. Light brilliant ruby. Initial nose of rose petals and spice. On the palate this is light but elegant with lovely balance. Ready to drink with completely resolved tannins. Lacking depth as is typical of the vintage and drink up. But a lovely drink.

PNP the first of a case, and after some driving so not perfect conditions. This was open and relatively advanced vs. what I was expecting. Pretty, floral nose. Light, red fruit on the palate. Easy to drink. I would have guessed it was older, maybe a 2000. A-

This bottle was not as strong as the last one, but it was again saline and boasted a charming nose of roses. The fine tannins coated the palate and the long finish was chalky.

Light ruby. Aromas of wild strawberries, minerals and interestingly mandarin orange. Very tart, spicy and loooong on the palate. Later some dark chocolate also. This close out case has provided much pleasure, tonight with leftover duck.

In a strong lineup of 2002, 2005, 2007, and 2010 premier crus, this wine came second for me after the 2002 Arnoux Suchots. Quite tasty, the sweet and saline notes of minerals, smoke, and roses had me coming back for more. Fine tannins envelope the long finish.

Nose does not give up much. On the tongue there are bright cherries, cardamom, and soy. Balance is great. This is a food wine by any measure. It was a great pairing with Beef Stroganoff.

Three Burgundies and a Swiss (with a sweet Rheinhessen Riesling to finish) (Our place, Bern, Switzerland): Tasted blind against other three. Medium-light garnet, with orange rims. Spicy nose, soy, and after a while a sweet cinnamon note (on day two, I thought that some sweetness from the oak showed up). The fuller and intenser and the most charming one on the palate. Lively, fine, gay. It finishes on a slight saline note. On day two and three I start noticing the tannins. Quite lovely. ***(*)
