3rd bottle over 3 years almost one year apart on each. Twisted and poured, consumed over 3 hours. Nose shows red fruit, baking spices, slight herbalness (not in a bad way) underneath. Taste is strawberry / cherry with noticeable acids up front and tart tannins bringing up the rear. Light, thin, and no real complexity on the palate. Disappointing compared to other vintages.

Decanted. Nose of red berries and mint. Lighter berry fruit on the palate with some spice. Acidity and tannins are well balanced at this point. Medium finish. I think this is drinking quite well at this time.

This wine is an underperformer, especially for the price and the winemaker. Clear ruby with a red brick tint. Nose of black cherry, menthol and a dusty/earthy/moldy note that is not particularly welcome. Light to medium palate of cherry, strawberry, cola, and spice. Flavor profile is a bit simple. Length: only fair. Bright acidity verging on the tart. Supple tannins. Silky texture. Overall, just so-so...

Crimson and brown in color. The nose exhibits notes of sandalwood around a cherry core. On the palate, elegant red fruit, light tannin, and very lively acidity suggest further cellaring may help provide additional balance. Nice in consideration of the difficult vintage.

Twisted and poured, consumed over 2+ hours. Like the nose with cherry, strawberry, burnt sugar and baking spices. Less thrilled about the taste where it is simpler strawberry and baking spices; light and lush with mild tannins.

I like this wine more tonight than on previous occasions, but I think it's because the bouquet alone is satisfying enough. The mouthfeel is still not quite up to par.

I thought this was a decent effort in an otherwise challenging vintage. Had it after the '06 and this wine was clearly overwhlemed on my palate by the prior wine. In so ways however, I actually preferred this wine. I thought the nose had better balance and was more enticing. However, it was much thinner on the palate only with a medium finish. Predominantly fruit with some faint notes of spice.

Nose promises red fruit and oak, but on the palette it is a bit out of balance. Oak is not discernible and fruit is buried beneath the acid and astringency. Needs to be drunk with food, which helps, but its a shadow of the '06.

Popped and poured, consumed over 2+ hours. Light Pinot color. Nose is all strawberry, spice (perhaps white pepper) and some herbs. Taste is tart strawberry and not much more; pretty thin and disappointing compared to previous years.

Not...bad. This is one that comes really close but doesn't quite make it. Pale plum in color, it offers cranberry and cherry aromatics with some garden (green?) smells as well. The flavor is quite astringent, but the tannins are soft if noticeable at all. To me, the flavor comes on strong so that it's hard to deciper exactly what you're tasting - maybe that's a nice way of saying that the flavor is not terribly compelling. The aftertaste of cherries and olives is somewhat redeeming.

The nose was the best part of this wine, very nice. The palate and finish were just above average and not a very good QPR and certainly not at restautrant price I paid.
Interestingly, I have had a couple of Argyle PN and I'd have to say I'm not a fan for the price. If the bottle was $20 then maybe.

Despite an off vint, Argyle has managed to pull this one together to make a good, not great, Pinot. What I like about this is that the Reserve is usually almost over extracted, and this lighter vintage has balanced this wine out. Ripe but not over the top. Great acid and long finish with plenty of red cherry, wildberry fruit. Simpler in style, yet offers great fruit and a medium body at most.

I guess 2007 was a tough year. And it shows as this is one of the worst Argyle Reserves ever. Don't get me wrong, this isn't the worst Pinot Noir to ever pass through my lips, but it's not the typical big smooth Argyle Reserve from prior years. Smokey, mineral nose with a huge strawberry front end on the taste. Poor acidic acidic balance and thin tannins make the back end on this wine a bit tart.

A classic PN, very nice and balanced. A little on the light side, but very enjoyable nonetheless.
