Served to grilled meats. Very well integrated tannins and lots of tertial flavors dry leafs, cedar, tobacco and dry basement. Matured very well and super QPR with aging. Close to peak aging I would presume and 2030 might be stretching it

Garnet red, medium. Opens up slowly into many layers. Fresh cherries, cassis, red and purple plums, red apple, very fruity, notes of dark chocolate, charred wood, leather, cloves, meaty, herbal, black pepper. Medium bodied, pronounced acidity, round, red berries, herbs, long finish. At its peak.

had a 375ml (so probalby evolved more quickly) and it drank great. Medium bodied, medium complexity. If it were not so hot on the nose, i'd rate higher. Drink your 375's now bc they are starting to decline.

Merlot 50%, Cabernet Sauvignon 40%, Petit Verdot 7% and Cabernet Franc 3%
Medium body, bright garnet color. Wild fruits aroma on first attack but with short aeration shows ripe black fruits, cigar box and spices. Black currant and plum palate with lingering delicate finish. Rich and complex but elegant and well balanced, still fresh berries acidity and integrated silky tannins. Food friendly, tasted as well with stewed poultry and truffles as with Salmon in red wine. Serve 17º - 21º. Open about half hour ahead. Drink now and next couple years, perhaps longer.

A slightly understated nose of blackcurrant and dry forest brambles is followed by a harmonious, beautifully structured medium weight body where black fruits mingle with a gloriously peppery finish. There is a surprisingly long finish due to fine, pleasantly mouth-coating tannins, of which there are enough to allow waiting on the next bottle for another 2-5 years.
A really good dry, classically styled Bordeaux. Great with grilled lamb.
From a half-bottle "2 year micro-vertical while the wife's away."

surprisingly good and surprisingly mature. Plush and medium bodied with a touch of licorice. Perfectly balanced with none of the harsh acidity, rough tannin or high alcohold I have come to expect from bottles of this age from the region. A classic claret I suppose. Although concentration really isn't all that bad I have to say it could have some more complexity but I guess you can't expect all that much at this price point.

Lovely middle aged medoc, herbal, anise seed, typically black fruits and mid weight on the palate. Bought at a sale for a good price but would not have paid the original 60$ it was tagged at. Has another 5 years at peak left I would say.

Green peppercorn and aniseed aromas lead to black cherry fruit with slight graphite flavors. Well balanced acidity, fruit with firm tannins and a long finish.

Solbær, moreller, pepper, vanilje. Hint av anis. Bra lengde og fylde. Mangler litt på kompleksitet, men du verden så sjarmerende. Er 2008 en undervurdert årgang?

From a blend of 52% Merlot and 48% Cabernet Sauvignon, the wine is still on the oaky side with coffee bean, vanilla, licorice and black cherry notes in the aromatics. Soft, round and forward, while not complex, it's fun and already easy to drink.

A fine young bordeaux, drinking well now. Purple, quite dense color, flavours of red and dark berries and a light whiff of cedar and vanilla. Medium bodied, pleasant, fruity flavours, quite round and delicate, not very tannic. An easy-drinking GCC, definitely good value at only 200 NOK/25 €

Medium + ruby in the glass. A surprisingly grapey nose with tones of blackcurrant and a hint of tobacco. In the mouth it is medium bodied, with ripe fruit, medium- tannins, and a hint of sawdusty oak. Drinking nicely, though the particular grapey note of fruit isn't quite to my taste.

Surprisingly open for a 2008 Bordeaux. Plum, black cherries, liquorice, toast. Silky tannins. After having 3 extremely tight 2008s, this was a pleasant surprise.

Union des Grands Crus de Bordeaux 2008 Tasting (The Barker Hangar – Santa Monica, CA): This is quite opulent and ripe with wafting aromas of spices, oak, currant, and berries. Glossy and ripe on the palate initially but it gains surprising balance and tension as the acid and tannins build through the finish. There are intriguing herb complexities and in spite of the ripe overtones this is quite enjoyable and poised.
