Definitely time to drink up, but nice flavors of grilled tropical fruit, particularly pineapple grapefruit, with some lemon and lime zest. And has a nice richest to it.

Grapefruit and lime peel with a sense of summer mornings. Rich start, minerally textured middle to finish that I really like. Still fresh and bright, but time to drink up. Excellent value when purchased at release.

In July 2009, the nose shows pear, almond, tarragon, petrol, honeysuckle, mineral. High acid. The taste is pear, almond, tarragon, petrol, honeysuckle, mineral. Medium bodied, balanced. In September 2012, the wine is less focused, subdued. Both the nose and taste are reduced to petrol and lime. The mouthfeel or texture is quite excellent and resembles a good chenin blanc in that respect. Enjoyable, subtle, and probably fading.

Enjoyed at Gilt Bar with good friends. Tasted next to the '10 and was surprised at how different they were. The '10 was cleaner and more mineral. The '08 had a somewhat bitter after taste. Still, both are great values.

Pale lemon-green. Citric, apple and stony nose, zingy entry of white apple, melon and pear. The palate adds some minerals, and the medium finish is more of the same but riper, an accomplished wine.

Just a bit of olive coloring to the wine, good aromatic lift of tangerine and lemon curd. Hints of minerals as well. Lemon, fig, earth and minerals. Strong, long finish. Very good.

Very unique wine with layers of citrus, flint, salt air aromas together with flavors of lime, grapefruit, minerals and good acidity making this an excellent one to pair with rich foods or seafood dishes.

Purchased from Wine Access. 100% Sauvignon Blanc from 80 year old vines. Alcohol: 13%. Uniform pale yellow color with very little edge coloring. Aromas of citrus, apple, straw, salt air, no wood. Body was medium light with lively acidity. Flavors of: grapefruit, lemon, minerals and a slight salty finish. Very long finish. This is a great example of an Old World Sav. Blanc. Nothing like a NZ Sav. Blanc which had been my only previous Sav Blancs. Not a whole lot of fruit but a whole lot of acidity and minerality. This is one of the best whites that I have had this year. Wish that I had bought more than 2 bottles. Will let the second one sit for another year. Excellent with grilled tuna.

Had topped up a case from Wine Access with a brace of these; pity it wasn't more. Have to concur with the generally very favourable tone of preceding TNs. It's always encouraging to hear Dulcie crowing, "It's delicious." Color of pale straw, the nose is very interesting with notes of rosemary and lavender, or so I thought; on the palate lush, tingling and vibrant, bundles of acidity, minerality, ripe citrus. Immensely drinkable.

Why didn't I get a case of this? Probably one of the most complete SBs I've ever had. Day one it was very floral/mineral/lemondrop, and on day two more of the SB herbs came out, but only slightly. I want more NOW.

Thanks to BC for the heads up! This is vibrant and refreshing.......full flavored sweet citrus, melon, lemon/lime fruit....tart and tangy, yet has a little creaminess to it. Well balanced, complexed lime blossoms, wet flint stone, raw peanut, fresh grassiness.....tight and tart citrus acidity...long finish. Really refreshing, yet substantial, tasty White. The balance is flawless! Great Summer sipper!

This wine is the kind of wine they wish they could make in New Zealand. Ricard is on top of the game in a somewhat tough vintage for Touraine in 2008. I am looking forward to the 2009. Nice purity of fruit with mineral components and citrus flavors.

A wine like this could change the way you might think about sauvignon blanc. So pure and laser-like, racy without being harsh, refreshing and intriguing. It's like triple-distilled grapefruit pouring down a minerally mountain rock stream bed. Great along or with food. 92+
Just adding another to the string of consistently strong CT reviews on this little gem.

no formall notes taken... brought this to an ITB tasting group (i support TB, but not in TB) to have during the Northwest Passage night of Oregon/Washington wines. This was passed around between the Oregon Whites and Washington Reds... This was WOTN (!?!). One Somm said this wine actually has a front, mid and back pallate that is consistant.
Wish I bought a case, and checked with The Great Enabler, they have no more. Worth seeking out, especially with Spring and Summer coming up.

I assumed the previous reviews were overboard, and relished the chance to post a contrary note.
In fact, this wine is elegant, well-balanced, full-fleshed sauvignon blanc. Minerals, stone fruit, wisps of grassiness...this wine is truly a complete package, and furthermore, it paired extremely well with orange-glazed chicken. The finish is extaordinary - tending toward the herbal/grapefruit side of things in th emidpalate, the wine reverts to a plush, voluptuous ending of lemon sour cream. So sad I only bought the one bottle.

Certainly worth the hype. An extremely well made sauvignon, which will do extemely well against the best sanceres. Good weight on the palate. Lovely minerality, fresh green apples and sour grapefruits on the long finish. Excellent
