This is a weird one. First impression was that it was slightly corked, but after reading other tasting notes I’m not so sure… it may just be the funny nose. Anyway, I don’t really like it, so I’ll conclude that it wasn’t how it was intended to be…which is always a bit of a shame.

From 75cl, short but perfect cork, no Weinstein crust at all. Sickly-sweet, almost Spätlese-like, just saved by quite high acidity. This is apparently a kind of "natural wine", fermented without additional yeast, in God's Good Time. Certainly there are plenty of odd, fermentating Normandy-apple-cider-type aromatic notes (=faults IMHO) on the nose and mid-palate. This might possibly come into balance in 10-30 years; it should last that long. But right now it is a wonderful illustration why most German consumers generally only buy Riesling with TROCKEN written in big letters on the label (or of course Auslese+). And reconfirms why this specific (German) consumer makes ever greater efforts to avoid "natural" wine whenever possible. Rebuy? Are you kidding? 86P

Aromas dominated by petroleum, and then minerals and citrus. Soft mouth feeling, despite a steely and intense acidity. A great riesling that will last for many years.

Mineral, steely, iron, grapefruit, firm, medium-weight. The policy at Grünhaus is to let the Superior ferment naturally without forcing it dry. Here, there's just a hint of residual sugar, mostly in the roundness of the wine. Good for drinking now, can still progress further in the bottle.

Riesling rendezvous (Bern, Switzerland): Those nose is weird, yeasty with a whiff of caramel, and seems a little off. However the palate is a whole different story, juicy, silky and creamy with a touch of residual sugar.

Light gold. Spicy aromas of slate and green grapes waft from the glass when poured. Mildly sweet with balancing acidity for a sweet/sour or savory taste. Was good on its own, but better with Thai duck with tamarind sauce. I believe this should continue drinking well to 2017.

Weird nose. I didn't get it.
Classic and clean, just a bit of sweetness and very, very fresh.
