Nice champagne, light, effervescent yet substantial. Citrus notes and good acidity, things in balance but nothing wowed me with this. I'd like to see the evolution but for this level of champagne there should have been more. Is it the age or could be the 05 vintage???

Pale gold color. Medium bubbles. Fresh nose, slightly vegetal, lack of any toast or buttery notes. Classical body, structured, medium acidity, citrus, lemon tart. Similar to Perrier Jouet, Belle Époque. A little disappointing for what it is (300 bottles, etc), but magnificent or the fact that 2 year old vines...surely a collection piece and interesting to follow in maturity!

Welcoming Craig C to DC - Marks duckhouse Part 2 (Marks duckhouse, Falls Church, Va): I was a bit late and the bottle was opened for awhile. It is fresh and mineral but I didn’t get much ripe fruits that Neal Martin mentioned other than a slight hint of sweetness. Fine mouse, elegant and clean. Very enjoyable and wide open for business.

Very good. Concentrated, ripe, very vinous, with an oiliness of texture recalling white burgundy very clearly. Chalky and masculine in character despite the very ripe fruit and almond and tangerine notes. Surprisingly elegant and fine despite the size. Good to very good cut, good length. The 06 is definitely the better wine but this is still quite impressive and very enjoyable.

Fairly pale, fairly subdued bubbles. Beautiful nose of citrus and a bit of yeast. Moderate dosage and body, but what is really striking about this wine is the intense minerality and its long finish that is full of soil. In fact, I don't think I've ever had Champagne so deeply imbued with earth. Excellent and quite distinctive.

Light yellow color. At first the nose seems to be holding back a bit, but I got notes of lemons, green apples, freshly grinded coffee beans and a flinty touch of minerals. More giving taste with juicy yellow fruits, primarily yellow citrus fruits and sour mirabelles. Very youthful with a very powerful acidity, slightly tart finish and great length. This should grow with a few years of cellaring.

wow. fresh and lucious. a rich treat of balance and fruit from what i would ahve thought would have been a 'too young' wine. the taste lingers for over a minute. shocking how good this is...

first night: sunflower husks, lemon and minerals. as time went on, I was disappointed at how sweet this became...and the wine flattened out a bit over 1.5 hours. check in again tomorrow.
balanced out nicely on day 2.

Clean, pure...mineral and citrus. Not a lot of toast.

Golden yellow in colour. Toasty and brioche on the nose.
Lots of lemon and honey in the palate.
Quite complex.

Fine bubbles. Buttery, brioche notes; hints of grapefruit. Started to open after an hour. Subtle, delicate flavours, tightly knit together.

Very fine bubbles. Citrus and mineral aromas. Creamy, light on the tongue. Dry with crisp acidity. Lovely.

Very well balanced & disarmingly easy to drink, but just that and not much more.
