Showing even better than the last time I had it. So poised, rich and classy; a velvety feel to it. This is one of those wines that begs the question 'why pay more'...

Belated New Years Celebration (Mark and Erica's - Roehampton): Love this producer and this wine. A stolid Syrah that isn't overdone, well knit and confident. Drinking perfectly and considering the peppery firmness on the long prominent finish, there's no rush.

Quite impressed with this. Not super fruit forward, but rather a bit aloof and showing backbone, almost dry. Lovely concentration, quite decadent. Excellent for the price.

This is on sale for $5 off a bottle at the LCBO so I bought 10. First time in a couple of months but this is as pleasing as ever. Really an unctuous, beautifully rich experience but not at all overdone. This is really starting to show some signs of maturity - the pepper notes are starting to deepen and are not as superficial as back when we first tasted. Really pulling together as great drink to sit around and sip. Will see how it pairs with a tomato based pasta. Solid wine with good interest. 91.
Note: Didn't perform so well with the pasta.

Drank with mustard rubbed, grilled rack of lamb on top of grilled tomato and polenta. Perfect match with the rare lamb. Glad to have 5 more to enjoy over the next year.

Really smoothing out. Thick but not syrupy, really quite a brute. There are some signs that this is actually Syrah. The immense alcohol is handled fairly well. 90+

This wine has gotten a bit one-dimensional, lots of blue fruit, some oak notes, but the typical Novy Syrah notes are not showing right now. Still a nice wine and great QPR.

Very good, another example of LCBO alc. label conflict with the back stating 14.3%, the front indicating a whopping 15.7%, tough to believe as this was barely noticeable - Dark, full bodied with a nose of plum, blueberry, cherry, pepper and vanilla, nicely made and integrated, a touch simple, fruit forward style, sweet, smooth on the palate with very good length (89 Points).

Wow, now this was a find! Smoky, peppery, Jammy fruit on the nose, midpalate is full and rich, finish is rich, jammy, lingering with touch of vanilla. This could actually pass for a Jaffurs, and for $18 a bottle, this is a great find.
-- Consumed at at cellar temp: 60°-65° F. Friends don't let friends drink red wine at room temp!

A great wine. Enticing nose with lots of blackberry and a little pepper, then smooth on the palate with a luxurious, balanced body; again bold fruity flavors with lots of dark berries and a smooth finish. Enough character to enjoy with a meal, but gentle enough to be easily drinkable on its own as well.

big, fruit forward wine with great tannins, balance, and weight. Blackberry, currant, plum, deep dark fruit taste with touch of spice. 14 percent alcohol but you wouldn't know it, be careful as it packs a wallop as you drink it. Great with food but also a great wine to drink by itself. Will buy again, a lovely syrah.

Quite liked this. It's big and bold, but easy to drink with no hard edges. A bit one dimentional, but really no complaints at this price point. A good buy to be sure.

2007 Novy Syrah Party + A Pile Of Other Things (The Murray Casa): Big, juicy and full of dark fruit. Medium weighted with pure blue flavor, little leaner than past versions, which I like. Retasting the wine tonight with a full day of air, just a really dialed in and fruit forward syrah with all the flavors in complement to each other. And, no heat that I can sense. For me, heralds the QPR that Adam is so talented with in terms of syrah and a wine that is delicious and excellent.

This was an impressive wine and a great value. Good nose and nice layers of ripe fruit, toast and vanilla. Well integrated acidity and minerality.
