Golden hue that speaks of 15 years. Beguiling scent of exotic fruits in a firm and elegant shape, with an undertow of blanched almonds and a hint of dill. Smooth and harmonious in the mouth, with a very long aftertaste. The poised elegance and harmony of this wine makes it truly outstanding. (The fewer points given now reflect my drive to turn back the prevalent inflated level of points all around.)

A truly outstanding wine with heavenly harmony in the aroma. Nothing really sticks out, but associations go in the direction of honey mixed with fresh fruits and herbs. Perfect harmony in the mouth as well, and a lingering pleasant aftertaste. The problem with harmony at this level is that it makes it impossible to write detailed tasting notes.

Wow, didn't see this one coming. This isn't so much a fruit bomb as the glowing uranium-235 at the core of the fruit bomb. It's all fruit at this stage, super-luscious creamy fruit like banana and pineapple that's been deepened by the bottle age in a way that makes it feel almost bruléed, delivered with an intensity that does for gruner what something like Chave Hermitage does for syrah: ratcheting up the density without fattening up the frame. In fact this is still lean and acute even though the buzzing energy it had on release has turned more placid.

From magnum. Wow this has evolved beautifully. The acid is still there but this has mellowed. Orchard fruits, a touch of honey even. Minerals, lemon zest. Lingering finish. Perfect food wine but it will stand up on its own.

A very dense wine and quite viscous. Seemed to show a bit more age than I expected but not in a negative way. acidity was well balanced. Started off the night with it and found it quite enjoyable. Could wait another couple years if one wanted.

Well nuts. This was oxidized. Foil stuck to bottle. Cork had some signs of leakage. Wine was darker yellow, and clearly "off." If t was drinkable, sure. But what an incredible disappointment. This wine is so outstanding when its on. We have 3 more magnums. Here's hoping they are still solid.

About 4 hours air and this is beginning to hit stride. But putting other bottles back into the cellar. Just too soon as perhaps its still a bit closed. Delicious and enticing. Great with a Soft Shell Crab and Ramp sandwich. Dunno why but suspect this may show its best after the 10 year mark.

From a magnum. Buckle up for this wine. It is an absolute knock out and a joy to drink. It is exceptionally versatile, although I'd probably recommend with food due to the higher acidity and denser texture. Here is what you get. Tropical fruits, wet stone and minerals with nice body and tingling acidity. It is practically like a punch in the face when you take the first sip. So much going on. The finish is just a tad sweet and goes on.

Has an amazing nose that is a ringer for some shellfish, perhaps steamed mussels; palate is very complex - a lot of stoniness but also some fruit coming through here. Very interesting, very mineral; this is definitely a step up from the other wines in terms of being complex and flavorful. 91-92+

Unbelievable complexity. From the seductive nose right through the long finish - spellbound. First night much less so but 4 days vacu in fridge and when this warmed it became absolutely stellar and very dynamic. Every sniff was a new set of scents. Each taste sent me to a new heaven. Depth, concentration, intensity yet so graceful and balanced. Fantastic. Contemplative. And I need a new vocabulary to begin to describe this.

Well, if you have any abrasions in your mouth you don't know about, drink this and you'll find out about them real quick. By far the most electric acidity of any of the wines I've encountered in the Prager portfolio to date, seriously amped-up over the standard Achleiten. Everything that's there is here but more vivid and more extreme and so dynamic it practically jackhammers through its minerality and sprays metal shavings everywhere.

Another amazing Gruner from 2007 right up there with a recent 2007 Pichler M. Great acidity. A variety of refreshing citrus notes. Smooth and balanced. Juicy at times. Slate/rock. Wow!

Fruity, floral and spicy aromas in the direction of Gewürztraminer. Soft, fat and rich on the palate, with great depth and power. Impressive.

Julie (25th) and Elliott's (23rd) Birthday Dinner at Bouley; 12/18/2010-12/19/2010 (Bouley): Primary but with intense fruit flavors of lime, guava and floral undertones. Balanced and delicious, finished with a nice, spicy complexity

One of the most anticipated bottles of the evening and sadly it was corked. Yet you could still get a hint of the intensity and greatness of the wine.
