Tons of black and pixelated red fruit; anise, spicy tones and a hint of creamy chocolate. Attractive body and balance with an airy feel and extended finish. In the window and at peak.

Burgundy color with a muted bouquet and flavor of cherries, giving way to chokecherries, with some hints of toast, but no distinct Pinot Noir notes. The wine had generally good balance, but with modest body and little nuance. It also had a very short finish. I had great hopes for Charmes-Chambertin, and for Perrot-Minot, but was again disappointed. This wine was better than most Burgundies that I have tasted, but a sad comparison to Oregon and California wines. For those who prefer restrained wines, you should try Domaine Serene, and for more power, Aubert.

Black fruit on nose and palate, wonderful balance, and long lingering finish. Excellent now with a bit of decanting, and has the structure to last for another 10-20 years.

Hints of black liquorice, dark cherries, Asian spices (strange but true), dark fruits, black pepper, truffles, and strawberries. The structure was more that of a Chambolle; pearl like and smooth. The sommelier independently concurred with our notes. After about 20 minutes the wine took on a new form. It began to almost decompose and fall apart, leaving only oak and rotten flavors and aromatics. It also tasted as though Trevor had dropped a nickel in my glass while I wasn’t looking. My brother compared it to a dead rat. Maybe the bottle was off

Nicely open, oak, driven notes of red fruit and a bit of earth. Great balance and charming texture.

(Mostly) Burgundy Dinner with Friends (Le Select - Chicago IL): More red than black fruit with spice notes and earth. Good+ weight and balance. A bit of new oak still protrudes on finish.

Juicy red and black fruit. Very fresh. Plenty of time left. Round and polished. Nothing wrong but lacking a little excitement.

It fell flat. I expected more complexity and structure.

Yes. Nice 2002 and recommended. No hint of excess oak. Not the greatest '02: good.
