Nice nose with dark fruit, earthy notes, red plum, cherries, and dried flowers. Good acidity and quite tannic and powdery on the palate with more dark cherries and berries. Good finish. A nice wine that's enjoyable now, although I don't think the fruit will outlast the tannins.

This is showing admirably. Structure mostly resolved, with a fine array of dark fruits of the bosky variety, savory herbs, and funky game notes, with a salty (more iodine than Maldon) bead of minerality within. Nice ripeness, with no sense of torréfaction and excellent freshness given the vintage. Quite tasty with pan-roasted Rohan duck breast with a lavender honey, herbes de Provence glaze, roasted duck fat potatoes, and haricots verts with shallots. My last bottle, but if I had another, I’d pair with duck confit or perhaps navarin. I’ve enjoyed Eric Texier’s wines for years and this shows that even lower on the food chain his wines shine with age. Re-buy? For sure. And given a time machine, I’d have purchased more.

Really delicious well-aged Syrah. Super smoky on the nose as Texier's Brézème usually is - intense smoked paprika, smoked beef jerky - with haunting scents of cherry liqueur on the periphery. Much of the same on the palate, which is driven by strong acids. The fruit is fading away and has the savory meter peaking. Very good, not profound but utterly textbook Syrah. The higher-end Domaine de Pergaud bottling must be amazing.

Found this hiding in the cellar. Still a little life left. Fruit has lost some of its freshness but Texier's winemaking shines through.. Slight vegetal note subsided after an hour, mushroom, leather , black pepper secondaries came forward. 12% ABV - noteworthy. Moderate sediment in the bottle.

Opened one hour in advance. Reticent aromas of berry fruit, Pleasant earthy flavors of cherry, rhubarb. Herbal finish. Balanced, pleasant, linear, backbone, good staying power. Very good, probably not going anywhere from here.

Nice southern Rhone Syrah. Not complex, but highly quaffable. Savory rather than jammy, so more Northern Rhone than Oz. Might last another year or two, but probably no reason to wait. Day 3 (fridge and VV). Really nice and smooth; just a little hollow in the mid-palate. Drinking very well. Up a point.

Nose of olive tapinade, bacon, hint of blueberry, but mostly savory notes, with a hint of rusty nails. Good fruit and acidity on taste with olive, pepper and blueberry. A chalky finish with the tannins still in force. Very nice.

Very good. Light in color. Nose full of black raspberry, a little white pepper, some flowers and some olive funk. I think this is 100% syrah and it certainly has a little of that northern rhone funk. The wine explodes on the midpalate with darker fruits and black olives. It's got everything going for it, and then comes the finish - it is completely non-existent. The wine just absolutely drops off and it is such a shame because it had the potential to hit excellent.

Deep-purple red. Light to medium body. Very good; mint-y berries; hollow in mid-palate, medium finish.

Interesting wine. Smells like Bacon. Drank alone but definitely a food wine.

Dusty dark fruit, wet stone and white pepper flavors. Medium body, soft tannins and an overall nice balance.

Decent cotes du rhone; in a natural style with some garrique. This may get better.

Tasty as always. This wine has a curious blend of very ripe and slightly underripe elements. Probably a relatively short keeper; will drink up soon.

Dusty nose. Quite green and austere. Not much fruit to speak of. Probably needed food, because I did not enjoy this at all by itself.
