Warm earthy nose. Sour cherry, strawberry, rhubarb palate, with earth, herbs and a bit of spice. Medium body, high acid Pinot. I don't like paying $25 for a bottle of wine, but this was worth it.

Pop and pour, drank over 2 nights, keeping under argon in between. Relatively lean Oregon pinot, with sour cherry, earth, and a fair amount of acid. I imagine this would be great with food. Modest complexity, a good value.

Bright red fruit on the nose. Cherry cola, cranberry and a hint of allspice on the palate. Medium complexity and a solid value at around $25 . . . for Pinot Noir.

Feminine, well-balanced, and chameleon-like over time. Wild flowers, herbs, red fruits, cola, cedar, minerality, and forest floor abound. Delicious and drinking exceptionally right now with a great qpr. Buy more...

Purslane provided a spot on writeup of the wine. Best guess if tasting blind would probably be 1er cru Burgundy. Aromas and tastes are old world. Nose is muted on the fruit, more savory nuances. On palate, black cherry dominates. It is a bit harsh and tannic. Still a lot of acidity. This wine is ok, but passing on the offer today to buy more. Do not pick up any vanilla notes.

This wine is an excellent ringer for a Chambolle Musigny from Burgundy France. The light goes through an inch pour in the glass instead of the darker and more opaque color commonly made in California and Oregon. It also illustrates the main virtue of elegance in Pinot Noir - the wine exhibits great clarity where each flavor shows well without any flavor dominating. The nose has a distinct floral aroma of violets. The main mouth flavor is bright red cherry. Acidity and drying tannin provide an upfront structure on entry that persists throughout the finish. Offsetting that structure is a rounded silk edge. Here oak is a subtle background flavor with no obvious clove or vanilla.

Willamette Valley Century Club (100 wines in a day)!: Enjoyed this only slightly more than the 2006. This was amazingly funky though, and almost confusing. It was almost Syrah like in its size on the nose. On the palate it showed some mild fruits, though there was still some of that soft funk. Overall just too mild.

Yamhill Carlton Tasting Event (The Armory, Portland Oregon): The nose shows some dark strawberry notes, as well as an interesting scent of campfire ash that I see more often on older Oregon Pinot Noir. Rhubarb and strawberries show on the palate, as well as a hint of something green. The structure shows late on the palate, along with a hint of earth. 87+

This wine shows it’s true colors of cedar, earth, and mushrooms with a backbone of bright red fruit. No fruit bomb, it’s chewy spice and cloves really went well with the fennel in the salmon.

Exactly what I said on my last note. Nice to find a well-aged Oregon pinot of decent pedigree for $24.

Forrest berries and floor, terroir driven and distinctly Willamette. A well balanced, elegant offering.

Fragrant nose. Tart rhubarb strawberrry palate, with a weird Christmas spice and mushroom medley in the background.
