1 of only 1 for me here (do have a couple '07s), and it's drinking aged but well at this time. Still a dense ruby color to it. Aromas of black and blue fruits, maybe some dark red as well, licorice, graphite, balsamic, dark chocolate, walnut, eucalyptus, and damp earth. Medium body, medium (+) acid and finish, with flavors of dark fruits, fairly strong minerality, balsamic, and drying leather/black tea on the back end. Has a real Bordeaux vibe. Wasn't exactly sure how to pair the Tuscan balsamic sausage and grapes recipe we tried out tonight, but it worked well; otherwise I'd say steak and red meat dishes would be the call here. 90+

Absolutely de-e-e-licious. Just the right blend of Cabernet, Merlot, and Petit Verdot for this cowboy. Beautiful fuchsia color. I love the elderberry/mulberry fruit aspect that the PV adds. Last bottle, but I could drink this stuff every night. This is peak drinking right now, and will probably only head downhill from here. Drink in the next 3 years or so, I'd guess.

A big, seriously structured wine with grippy tannins. Some heat, ripe berry and herb scent. Rhubarb, coffee and tobacco flavor. Edgy, with plenty of acidity. Seems like it has the stuffing to continue to improve with age.

Medium ruby colour, earth and cherry nose, taste was bitter cherry enough to make you pucker, medium finish. The wine significantly mellowed on the second day, no more puckering. Additional cellar time or a long decant will greatly improve this wine.

Aromas of dark cherry, mushroom, and a very little bit of sawdust. Medium to full body with intense dark cherry, wet earth, and more mushroom. Gripping tannins really pucker you up. Well balanced acidity that pops on the mid palate. Drinking really well now and may show more secondary flavors with bottle time.

Decanted for around 30 mins. Dark purple color. Not overly aromatic on the nose but some black cherry and ripe plum aromas coming through along with some cigar box and a touch of heat. Ripe berry and currant flavors on the palate with round tannins and medium acidity. No sign of heat on the palate and a pleasant finish. Went very well with pasta and a meat based sauce.

A nose of dark fruit and spice, dark garnet in color. A medium to full bodied Super Tuscan, with blackberries, currants, herbs and chocolate, long finish and complex wine, decant.

PnVnD for 2+ hours. Intense aromatics. Black fruits, plums, cedar, and cassis. Red fruits on the palate. Not as expressive as the nose. Flavors somewhat muted, but nice finish. Good balance. Better flavors and I'd give in another point or two.

Inky ruby. Blueberry, oak, and nutmeg nose. Medium bodied, plums, tart blackberries, dusty cherries, well integrated tannins, dark chocolate, and a dry, medium+ finish. Well structured and tasty.

Bordeaux blend, grown in Italy, that could have convinced me it was from California. Complemented a strongly spicy pasta we threw at it - good food wine. 50/5/12/15/8

Tasted blind. Lots of red berries and cocoa powder on the nose. Really great balance on the palate with a nice mix of dried fruit and oaky vanilla. The solid structure makes things interesting on the finish. Not distinctly Tuscan, but has the delicious factor going. Group WOTN.

This wine was a wonderful surprise. Nose was tight at first, only giving off aromas of vanilla oak and cedar with some red and black fruits. As the wine opened up it became more clear that Cab is the dominant grape in the blend but the palate did not taste as oaky as the nose had indicated. This wine will develop nicely with age and could rival the other big Super-Tuscans.

Interesting experience with this wine last night. Initial pop and pour revealed a big, tightly wound wine with some dark plum and cherry notes coming through on the nose and a decent amount of dark fruit, oak and tannins on the palate with a little bit of heat on the back end. After about 45 mins or so in the decanter the wine really started to sing. Nose opened up to reveal some nice perfume notes with more of the black cherry and plums and the palate showed a bit of chocolate and toasty oak on the back end. Medium+ acid. However, after 3 hours in the decanter the wine fell apart on the palate. Almost all of the fruit was gone and all that was left was tannin, acid and oak. I am not sure what that says about the long term prospects for this wine.

Very smooth and balanced at this stage. Soft red cherry and a subtle toast factor. Drink now.

Anything Goes When Thai Food and Wine Collide - NYC Wine Tasting Group (Kuma Inn, NY, NY): Lives up to its Bourdeaux like blend. A big solid wine, more french than italian. With about 30 mins of air, this wine was very inviting. Certainly can benefit from more time in the cellar but this one is open for business. Close to a 90.5.

Initially tight. After breathing, it opened up nicely. Rich, dark fruit and mocha flavor with serious backbone. The more I drank, the more I liked it.

This had some sour cherry and dark fruit, but it came across as flat and uninteresting. I think this was slightly corked, so no score.

Nice deep dense Cab driven blend. Maybe could stand another 3+ years to fully integrate, but drinking well now with a long decant.

color- dk ruby nose- cocoa and dk fruit but muted, not too expressive palate- mostly oak, vanilla and acrid tannin (NOT GOOD)
1 hour
nose was a bit more expressive with more cheery notes. palate was smoother but now there wasn't any fruit and it hurt to swallow (acid or heat)
too bad I have 2 more bottles. guess I'll be braising some meat with these
