Very good. At first I detected a 'chemical' note to the nose...this resolved with air and likely related to oak. Palate was delicious....rich, full bodied with nice fruit remaining.

S.F....La Paulee style! (S.F. Ca.): Served blind....youthful, bright yellow, tropical fruit, vanilla oak with some toffee...but completely balanced well with big fresh acidity, crushed minerals, smoked honey. Little more sweetness in this...but I think it's all in there, and should age well for quite awhile.

Opened after a few minutes to a great nose. Wonderful flavors of citrus, slight oak, with a long and wonderful finish, lasting over minute. Perfect age and ready. If you have it, don't much longer, but I love this wine at this time.

1999 Marcassin Chardonnay Three Sisters Vineyard (USA, California, Sonoma County, Sonoma Coast) Kleur: Diep goudgeel, zelfs wat naar bruinig toe Aroma / bouquet: Super-rijp bouquet. Caramel en toffee, halfgedroogde appeltjes, roomboter, vanille, kaneel, gebrande suiker / basterdsuiker, crème brûlée Smaak / Afdronk: Vol en boterzacht, superdik-sap, sherry-toontje, prachtige zachtheid met een mooie kaneelachtige bittertoon. Super-lengte.

The best yet! Amazing bright color. Complex floral and fruit notes on the nose. Butterscotch, mango, citrus, lemon zest. Nice acidity. A Wow wine by all accounts.

Raid the Cellar Party at BWB. Beautiful wine. Fresh, nice acidity, great length. A little buttery on the tongue and a little cloudy in the glass, but other than that it was perfect.

Quite frankly the best California chardonnay I have ever had. This is just total grand cru wine. Find some and pay the same you would for a grand cru burg. Seriously, I had total Francophiles for dinner tonight and they couldn't believe it. Love it! Can go on for years and I want to keep one bottle just to see how long it will last.

Light straw color. Liquid was clear except for some tartrate solids in the bottom of the first glass (not a problem). A mild nose of fig and fresh baking bread. Nice and big in the mouth with caramel and and a delicate bit of pear for the acid. Nice 30+second finish with the caramel gently fading off into the tonsils. A nice 92 points with the potential of getting even better for five or six years.
Dinner at Crimson (dn/tn/jdn). Served at 60-65 degrees

Medium clean aroma of yellow fruit and spice. Nice more blaance wine with decent acidity underlying the fruit. This was my favorite of the Marcassins. 3/05

Drank at Ruth's Chris with Dick Nowak, Todd Homa and Bill. WOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOW! Helen Turley is a GODDESS!!!!!! This was amazing. Exquisite nose, crisp, no trace of oak, loads of fruit, just enough minerality and a finish that kept going and going and going. I am impressed! My first Marcassin and definitely NOT my last.

Dinner with the Plambecks and my first Marcassin experience. This is certainly the best chardonnay I have ever had and one of the more memorable wines of my life. The nose was enormous and interesting. I found waves of scents including a strong yeasty element, pine resin, minerality, and hazelnuts. The palate was unreal. It showed roasted pine, chestnuts, and exquisite balance. The finish never ended. The palate was a bit tight. I would like to try this wine again with a few more years of bottle age.

Kleur: Diep goudgeel, beetje wijnsteenzuur-kristallen. Algemeen / potentieel: Briljante Cali-Chardi. Eigenlijk te oud. Maar met wat Époisses briljant. 50 + Kleur: 5 + Aroma / bouquet: 13 + Smaak / Afdronk: 16 + Algemeen / potentieel: 9 = 93/100
Color: Deep golden yellow, little tartaric acid crystals Aroma / bouquet:. Overripe, great complexity, some caramel and toffee, creme brulee, dried apples, roasted nuts Taste / Aftertaste: Refreshing acidity, thick juice, caramel, brown sugar, creme brulee. Impressive length with a bitterness in the aftertaste. General / potential: Brilliant Cali-Chardi. Actually old. Brillijant with some Epoisses brilliant. 50 + Color: 5 + Aroma / bouquet: 13 + Taste / Finish: 16 + General / potential: 9 = 93/100

Although beautiful wine, the '99 was overshadowed by the '02 Three Sisters with less nose, fruit, and finish. Still an awesome wine.

Cona Thanksgiving 2005; 11/23/2005-11/27/2005: Harmonious oak, sugar and cedar. Strong in the middle pallette and finishes lightly. Truly spectacular.
