Surprisingly no signs of age. Consistent hue of very light ruby with just a faintly lighter rim, no browning. Nose of green pepper, warm cinnamon and graphite. Palate is a bit bolder with brambly fruits, light tar and pie spices. Smooth and medium long finish with some notable tannin. Nice wine though I struggle to see the $74 CT value. Don’t recall what I paid.

Ripe cranberry, some earthy almost mushroom like notes on the finish. Not as bright and energetic as the last bottle, and there was a bit of alcoholic heat on the finish. Drink up.

Sweet cherry and raspberry fruit. This lacks the cola and sur maturite that many Cali PN seem to possess. Everytime I open an Anthill wine I'm pleasantly surprised by its balance between California fruit and Old World reserve and sophistication and ask why I don't buy more... Excellent stuff!

Bottle #1 of 6. Loved it! Very bright, light as a feather and full of energy. VERY light translucent cranberry red color with only a hint of rim lightening. Etheric nose of brightest of red fruits, nice glycerin, superb lift and cut. Had this side by side with an 09 Rhys Santa Cruz Mountains, and I preferred this for the first two nights. (Later the Rhys, with its depth and dry extract, surpassed it.) Wonderful pinot, wish I had lots more. This is just starting its run, and will be good for 6-9 years, at least. But it sure is blazing now! Superb winemaking.

A very nice red-fruited and spicy pinot, with an easy mouthfeel like creamy strawberries, with good balancing acidity and a mouthwatering finish. Don't know what this will do with a few more years of bottle age, but it's drinking very well right now.

Popped and poured. Consumed over 2 days, first night with a home made pizza featuring eggplant. Mixed nose of mostly red fruits, some cola, and a bit of darker fruit. Color a bit cloudy. Bright red fruits on the palate, some mushroom/earth, and fair amount of acidity. Caramel note on the back end. Nice enough finish with a little bite. Good stuff. Have (almost) always found AF wines solid.

Sour cherry notes, medium body finish, astringently dry. Earth and mushrooms in the nose. A solid Pinot that, if brown-bagged, could be pegged as Burgundian. Honestly, this wine is not in the 90 point range.

Notes similar to previous bottle. The AF Pinots always seem to have really good noses and this one was no different. Drinking very nicely right now, but no rush.

The nose started out with beets and cola, then turned smoky and a bit darker. The palate is medium bodied with tart fruits and lots of acidity on the finish....because of that acid the palate gives the impression of rich sour cherry and cranberry with enough depth to be balanced - but that acid is still pretty firm. It doesn't have the rich, glycerin-driven palate of over the top CA Pinots, and yet isn't as earthy as the finest Burgundies...instead it strikes a balance right down the middle of those two styles. The good news is that if you pair it with the right food, it will shine (tonight was grilled salmon and it was spot-on) or it probably has lots of time to evolve ahead of it if you're patient. I'd drink it now (with food) and over the next 3-5 years to watch its evolution. I love the restraint in Anthill's wines....

Initial nose was vegetables, ashtray, spice and compost but overtime became ashtray and cherries. On the palate, it was very nicely integrated with a profile dominated by smokey, dark fruit. The acidity was steady and added balance while the tannins were soft but round and supportive.

Drank one glass on Day 1 and remainder on Day 2. Much better on Day 2. Classic Anthill. Refined but with very "precise" and bright red fruit with a good dose of acid and minerals and a bit of spice. I'm not getting the earth that some other have sensed.

Really expressive nose of cherries, minerals and spices. The hallmark AF silky smooth texture is here. Very focused sour cherries and baking spices. The fruit is not as "bright" as some other AF, but very good nonetheless.

This bottle seemed bigger and more extracted than my last bottle - not worse or way out of what I have come to expect from the Anthill style just a little bigger. There was lots of red fruit flavor, spice and herbal or tea flavors on a balanced and complete frame. Excellent with planked white king salmon served under a melange of fresh herbs.

A nice light color in the glass. Not as much earthiness as some of the Peters from other producers but developed with more air. Excellent balance where no component overshadowed another but were all present. Almost strawberry like as it hits the palate.

Pop and pour and followed over 4 hours. Wonderful nose of brown spices. Has a little smell of bees wax. Could be the capsule but I do smell bees wax and honey. Great red fruits but lively acidity that keeps you coming back for more. Light on its feet. Short finish but the wines leaves your palate clean, and looking for another sip.

Decanted for 90 minutes. Wafting, bright cherry/earthy/spicy nose. The mouth (my least favorite part of this wine) is somewhat amorphous, with meaty, berry notes. The legnth is a bit high pitched, with nice notes nonetheless. When I taste the wine - just taste it - I find myself wishing that there was a bit more definition here. Seems strannge to say, given that it seems to have good structure and backbone. Nitpicking perhaps. Needs more time, perhaps.

Opened and poured, this wine showed wonderful aromatics of red cherry, cinnamon, cranberry, tea leaf and earth notes. The color is a light to medium ruby that is vibrant and youthful. The medium bodied palate shows outstanding balance and finishes with some tart acidity and subtle tannins. The is a wine of elegance and grace. The wine shows well now. In comparison to the recently tasted 2008 Anthill Farms Tina Marie, this is perhaps not as complete or seductive. This should benefit from a year or two of additional bottle age.
