Medium yellow. It’s on fire with very pronounced citrus, lemon, petrol notes. Much better than the la tillets 2 nights ago and a bolder wine. Excellent acidity and very long finish. Amazing roulot

Dinner at Beng Wan (Beng Wan Terrace): Not bad, but a little too tight and unyielding I thought. The nose started with quite a bit sulphur. When that blew off, there was plenty of reductiveness - so rotten eggs, then flint and chalk, then matchsticks, only after a long while, we got butter and cream, white fruit, and a little florals around the edges. The palate was rather more stirring, with a lot of bright lemony acidity piercing laser-like though a mouthful of white fruit - think green apples and pears - leading into a lovely mineral finish. Still needs time to come together, but this as always was an impressive, very elegant village.

Stone fruit more than citrus on the nose, complemented by minerals and a powdery/floral element. Lovely nose but seems close to maturity. The palate is rich, deep, ripe and shows a good acid bite on the back end. Showing better than the 08 1er crus that I have opened from Roulot.

Deep yellow color. Citrus nose with a touch of oxidation that presents itself as a butterscotch element. The palate shows high acid, lean and crisp. Short finish. A little disappointing tonight and somewhat worrisome because of the butterscotch on the nose.

Nose is slightly reductive with flint, minerals, gentle oak and yellow fruit. Palate has so much salty minerals and soaring acidity. Impeccable balance. This is still a baby. 93+ potential

Yellow going to gold color, gun powder, mineral , sea shell , on the palate nice entrance, fatty, round but the end is very drying ( on second day this effect is much less evident). Anyway a nice Bourgogne that maybe needs more time to balance the finish

Popped and poured. Nose of spice, citrus, flint, and orchard fruit with a hint of the Ramonet-like mint aroma. Fairly high acid palate, linear and reasonably austere showing rocky citrus flavors and a very dry texture. This is still too young and needs some time to round off the rocky edges.

Flatiron + Absinthe (Coche and Roulot) (Flatiron, Absinthe SF): Nose is a bit unusual- green stemmy apple and pear. Less reduction than the Coche. Powerful and richer than the Coche with more aggressive (high) acid that hits the sides of your mouth first. Less subtle. Strong lemon and slight lime.

Lovely wine tonight. Wonderful structure, lemon fruit, minerals, and nuttiness as it takes on air. Definitely room to grow and develop but think pretty great spot right now between fruit and energy/structure.

2008 Meursault Blind Tasting (My Home): Interesting to drink it next to the Vireuils. Clearly broader, more fat and riper than the Vireuils. Still mineral but slightly buttery with some tropical fruits and white peach. Still manage to stay elegant and balanced.

Kanske inte så smörig som andra Meursault men visst finns det där. Citrus och lite mineraler. Sval, lite ”enkel” smak, ganska låg syra . Med lite luft blev vinet lite mer complex men inget vin som jag tyckte stack ut

Meursault with/con Luis Gutierrez (Enoteca Barolo Madrid): Highly fragant. At first, full and rounded nose with a citrius and butter blended. By disgrace, with some air there was too much colony (lavender). Deuxieme Cru here? Not for me, thanks. People´s choice. Pure lemony mouthfeel but very simple acidity. Evolved to bready wine.

After completing the village tour of roulot wines, I still enjoyed the Tillet and Luchets the most, this wine was far more complex with deeper richer flavors. Less mineral and citrus attack. Excellent wine.

La Paulée de Los Angeles Gala Dinner (The Fairmont - Santa Monica CA): Small glass. Magnum. Rich and unctuous textures with equally rich and ripe aromas and flavors. Still nicely fresh, this is the best I can ever recall for this wine.

Pretty orchard fruit and stone on the nose. A saline minerality coats the mouth. Lightweight and crisp.

Nez floral et fin.
Bouche toute en longueur, très droite, avec une petite pointe d'acidité en milieu de bouche, mais une finale superbe.

Les Grands Jours - lunches and dinners between tastings; 3/18/2012-3/22/2012 (Burgundy): Popped and poured. Lemon and lemon peel on both nose and palate. Slightly floral start with faint hazelnut hints. Good minerality, very assertive acidity, particularly on finish. Got better with more air and time in glass.

Legends Dinner at La Paulee de San Francisco (Napa Valley Reserve - St. Helena CA): Floral start with good spice and aromas of roasted nuts. Flavors were a bit moderate, but the acidity and power came through more energetically when tasted with the food. Just a small notch ahead of its 2009 counterpart tasted alongside.
