  • Waited too long. Drinking window passed years ago. My bad.

  • Still drinking nicely. This was more interesting with an hour or so of air. Light red, with a little brick at the edges. Sour cherries, muted wood.

  • Lean and tart. Straightforward. No bitter notes. Unremarkable and unoffensive.

  • Shows much less fruit than a year ago. Opened up after 20 minutes. A light-bodied Burgundian-style Pinot Noir with medium tannins. Didn't quite stand up to Crimini mushrooms. Wouldn't have worked with Porcini either. 86-87
Update: A few days later, this paired very well with a feta turkey meatloaf. Certainly this has at least a couple of years of life, and it may or may not have reached its prime.

  • Light ruby color with a thin, sweet red fruit nose. Sweet red cherries in a light bodied wine, absence of spice or tannins. This is a nice wine, but I'm confused about the reports that it should be decanted for hours before drinking; it doesn't seem to have the body to stand up to that much air.

  • Agree wholeheartedly with recommendations to let this one breathe for a long while. Even after a four hour decant, I wouldn't have gone higher than 87 on night 1: wound very tight on the nose and in the mouth. Night 2 brought marked progress towards Day 3's picture of an Oregon Pinot in this price range. Well-integrated, bright acid, round for its lightness, a smidge of sweet and earthiness throughout with mellow red fruit by its side. I only paid $20 and would buy again anywhere under low 30's.

  • Very light bodied, almost translucent, but nice flavor.

  • This bottle not showing nearly as well as the last. Will check in again night two. Muted, nothing interesting going on. Night 2: much much better, this guy needs air, always amazed when wines improve significantly on night 2.

  • Consistent with my last notes, just as good. The earth has come to the front a bit more. If you like earthy, mushroomy Oregon Pinot with class and refinement, this is what you've been searching for.

  • Incredible strawberry and cherry aromas. Wine was nicely delicate without being watery. Good taste of fruit with some floral notes. Slight sweetness on the finish. Just as good on the second night.

  • Not doing it for me at $40, but a really nice $25-30 bottle. Burgundian. This is a delicate Pinot better suited to drinking by itself than a food pairing; just about anything will overpower it. Yet, when there's nothing else around, this shines in the glass. A bit of fruit, some nice acidity. A pleasant finish that teases you but leaves you not quite sure what you tasted. It's nice, but I think one can do better at the price point.

  • Woah, tasty! Acid forward, but balanced and lush. Intensely floral. Light color, but full mouthfeel. Mountain strawberry meets flint taste, with a distinct floral layer on the finish, raw but not heavy finish. Really good, drinking well now. Completely bucks the 2007 vintage trend. No decanting needed, just 15 minutes in glass.

  • Decent if somewhat unexciting OR PN. There is a touch of oak upon opening that dissipated with a bit of air and was a nonissue after maybe 20 minutes. Wanted a bit more acid and redness to the fruit, but not bad and great value for what I paid. My wife liked it more than me and it may have suffered to follow a wonderful Baudry Chinon.

  • Soft flowery aroma with a light color. This is a classic Oregon Pinot. It was very refreshing with a smooth finish and hints of fruit. There was no peppery taste which you sometimes find with Oak.

  • Sour cherries in a Burgundian-style Pinot with some barnyard on the finish. Excellent balance for such a tannic vintage. Medium tannins, low alcohol (13%), low acidity. A solid Oregon Pinot.

  • Loved this wine, what a combination with some nw grass-fed oxtail braised with red wine, fennel and root vegetables! Very interesting nose of mushrooms and dare I say truffles? These then give way to rose, and some citrus peel. On the palate, very well balanced, the red and black fruit held back just the right amount. Great acidic structure and the tannins, very well integrated by now, complete the taste with some black tea-like notes that are actually well matched to the rest. The finish is medium, not very long. This is definitely an underrated vintage, and this wine is a great example of what a talented winemaker can do with a more complicated season. I preferred this wine to many from the storied '08.

  • Yet another lovely Willamette Pinot. Great nose, palate and finish. Very refined, more burgundian than many wines from the Willamette Valley.

  • color: med I, purple,
    nose: red fruit, touch of (old oak}
palate: dry, acid med+ tannin med - body med alc est 13.5 finish, red fruit WB

Style: This is a New World example of a wine rying to be old world in restrained fruit, good bal between fruit, oak, alc, tannin, acid etc. This is a sophisticated yet easy drinking wine that has nice depth and concentration of red fruit in the Burgundy style, tha would pair well with salmon, pork, and llightly cooked lamb.

  • Very Very impressive....a nose of delicate fruit notes (citrus peel, cherry, pomegranate) and truffley mushroom....pretty expressive for such a young wine. Rose, orange, not quite garnet in hue. Very transparent. Mouthwateringly rich and full, while being delicate in flavor...Slightly stewed cherry, cranberry notes, a hint of cola, burgundian mushroom and moderate to low acidity. Easily the best Pinot I've had from this vintage and definitely the best Pinot I've had in some time. Really Well Done. Delicious alone, with 5 year old Gouda, and with roast chicken and greens.
