Temperature is critical to how this wine comes off. Lower temperatures are loaded with interesting herbs/plastic tastes that eventually resolve and come together, while higher temperatures have fully integrated tastes and softness with lush fruit.
This 2006 hardly shows it's age. It's still a youthful wine. Color is vibrant and very young. There is more aging potential for sure. Quality.
This guy is an amazing experience. Complexity. Softness, lushness and length with fruit and herbs. Worth the penny. One of the best from the area for sure.

I agree with prior note. The tannins in this wine are fading and its at the end of its life. It was still enjoyable, but I'd recommend drinking what you have soon.

Toward the end of its life but is very well balanced. The fading red fruit is complimented by good acidity and just enough tannins for structure. Smooth and enjoyable.

Conflicting feelings. Nose: boring, typical of modern and full of ripe fruit wines. On the palate: good acidity and reasonable balance. In summary, a good wine, but without further attractions. Not evolved since the last time I drank it; perhaps receded.

Unhappy that we didn't get to decant this; think I shortchanged it by a lot. Cassis was there, and some bitter chocolate; but fairly closed and not nearly so pleasing as previous tastings, despite two more years of age in the bottle. That bodes well for long life, however...

Stellar wine. Medium violet color, sublime nose of cassis, blueberry, herbs & spice, and a faint sweetness. The mouthfeel is bold, with big oak and that great Carmenere earthy, green pepper touch offset w/ classic Cabernet vanilla and cassis. Had with Filet! Amazing.

Blackberry, cassis, blueberry, some fresh bell pepper, moss, coffee grounds and bitter chocolate; medium body, higher acidity, not very plush but great balance and medium earthy tannins with a green aspect to it. Very nice, good QPR for high end Cab-Carmenere Blend (48.)

S&E Wine Club Blind Tasting (Great Falls, VA): tasted blind; had been decanted 3 hours. utterly green/herbaceous on both nose and palate. The Carmenere is obvious - this was the easiest of the blind tasting; stuck out from the others as completely different and clearly Carmenere. Most in the group loved it but I found it slightly underripe for my taste.

S&E Wine Club - Mixed vertical and horizontal tasting: Guava carmenere comes through clearly in the nose. Nicely balanced with the cabernet on the palate. The cab actually tones the carmenere down. Moderately+ tannins.

purple and opaque, complex nose which shows clay, eucalyptus, blackberry and peppers, ultra-smooth and easy to drink, full-bodied and dark, shows flavors of plum, dark berries and a bit of cocoa, fruit-forward, fleshy, good with roasted beef and brown gravy

Good wine. Improved after one hour open. However, if the fruit is abundant, lack complexity. I'll wait a few more years to open the other bottles I bought. Being drunk during the first final of the Corinthians in the Copa Libertadores against Boca Juniors. Corinthians Campeão.

Tasted at the winery. Very different experience than we had four days earlier in Santiago restaurant. Very deep ruby color. Complex nose of blackberry and pepper, plus others not identified. This time seemed both much more interesting on the palate, and more supple as well. Long finish. Winery served with their own bespoke dark chocolate. Fascinating product of 100 year old vines, and want to see this develop through time!

From the blackboard at Baco, in Providencia, Santiago. Deep ruby/purple color. Scents of blackberry and pepper. Much less supple than the Chadwick we were drinking, or than the 2005 I had before. Perhaps an unfair comparison, but "nouveau riche" next to the '99 Chadwick, and it wasn't just the infanticide...[note: also violated rule about ordering "by the glass"]...

A nice Cabernet blend. Dark fruit on the nose. Dark berries, plum, tobacco and a touch of spice on the palate. Finish is medium.

No hurry with these: plenty of tannins to provide structure to the black and red fruit.

Had at Roy's Kaanapali. Really enjoyed. I am fan of good Chilean Cab/carmenere.

Bold but balanced wine. Opened up nicely over an hour in a decanter. Red fruits, spicy, and floral notes. Still a few years of life in this wine.

75 min decant- big bold spice box up front with a seamless finish. Zero heat. Only drawback is length of finish. Good value.

Beautiful blend that drinks well beyond it pricepoint. At a recent blind tasting most thought this was a $100 bottle.
