Cooked sweet red cherry fruit, that’s spicy, soft and sensuous. Savoury at first but then the sweetness of the fruit kicked in, to leave an impressive lingering finish. Lovely balance and has held up well. CHP 91pts
Initially, my nostrils were assaulted by farmyard notes and talcum powder but underlying this on the palate was some savoury cherry fruit, shot through with a pleasing freshness. Fully dry, this had the softest of tannins, spice and developed a luxurious silky mouthfeel. On the finish, which was rather impressive and lingering there were further notes of plums with a hint of prune. In better condition than my last bottle and accordingly rated higher. CHP 92 pts

My nostrils and palate were initially assaulted by furred game and black cherries. Opulent and spicy this morphed into a delicious hit of black chocolate on the finish. It was fresh and savoury with soft melting tannins. The mouthfeel and texture were simply sublime as was the length of finish. My main criticism though was that the Bretty flavours were just a little too overpowering at the expense of the fruit. In spite of that it still merited a high score. CHP 91 pts

Decanted two (2) hours. Similar to prior experience red/black berries, cherry, plum, soy with earthy/savory undertones beginning to step forward. Should have the stuffing to last out the decade but drinking wonderfully right now!

Testing out a new venue; 10/11/2022-10/12/2022 (Market Brasserie at the O2 Intercontinental): On the nose - a bit of funk, some gaminess. This would be a great wine to spend an evening with but was a bit disjointed in the company. After finishing the other reds went back to this and found it much more enjoyable - evidently 09 was a low acid year which led to a lovely, somewhat harmonious wine, but it didn't benefit from being sat beside the others.

Now fully mature this was voluptuous and rich with a silky soft sensuous texture. Although sweet fruited, with notes of caramel and toffee there was still a savoury core and a delightful lingering finish. The last bottle I tasted many years ago was a little overblown and blowsy, but this has benefitted from bottle ageing allowing a calming effect, toning down the worst excesses. CHP 92 pts

Gorgeous Burg just starting to enter its drinking window. Just a slight bricking at the edges, heady nose of plum and minerals. Silky and refreshing on the palate - loaded with dark fruit but balanced with cave / mineral / earth notes and just a touch of funk.

The solar vintage of 2009 was a great match for Chevillon as it adds more rich fruit expression and freshness to balance the (integrated) gamey elements and rusticity Chevillon can often display. There is excellent concentration, balance and intensity. Cassis, black cherries, sous bois, smoke and minerals. Saturating texture and depth on the midpalate before a long and harmonious finish. Wonderful.

Reminds my why I adore M Chevillon! Lovely bright robe. Super earthy nose with lots of forest fruit there and then a lovely complex long taste. I didn't get the big tannins referred to below but it certainly well structured. I may last to 2031 but I won't wait that long. Definately drinking these before 2005s

Spicy, earthy, notes of predominantly red fruit, some dark fruit notes on the nose. Good ripeness of fruit but also quite tannic and grippy, in fact the most backward of the 2009s tasted tonight. Mineral, fresh finish, very good length. 90-91+(+)

Open but tannic and in need of a decant. Very good concentration that is pure and bright from start to finish. The integrity of the wine is enhanced by a mineral spine that gives it focused and tremendous balance. Nothing overdone here and another excellent 2009 Burgundy.

Decanted for three (3) hours. Deep garnet, with intense aromas of lavender, red/black cherry, sweet spice, rosemary and smoke. A rich tapestry of red and black fruit flavors are offset by bright energetic acidity present. Elegantly structured and surprisingly nimble. Fine grained tannins are delicate while retaining significant grip on the palate providing a long enveloping finish. Delicious now with many rewarding years ahead.

Brief tasting note. Nose with sweet oak and dense & dark fruit. Palate seems to concentrated and extracted (although I believe it’s the vintage shining thru) and lack the transparency and balance I prefer in my Burgundies. This is a typical example of what a vintage can do to a wine that in any normal vintage would show just excellent, especially from a winemaker that knows his hometurf and how to satisfy my taste buds. Not much the winemaker can do to fend off nature when she stampedes… I miss the feeling of terroir, elegance, clean fruit & the balance between fruit and acidity in this. It’s simply too much of allot to be a contender for something that will turn into something that ultimately will be close to great. Still, it’s far from new world, so could be much, much worse. Decanted for three (3) hours. Deep garnet in color, with intense aromas of red/black cherry, cranberry, kirsch, sweet spice, Herbs de Provence and cedar. Voluminous and lively on the palate, richly appointed flavors of aforementioned fruit are beautifully balanced by bright active acidity present. Elegantly structured, soft finely grained tannins present an ethereal presence in the mouth leading to a long evenly distributed finish. A delicious young Burgundy that has a promising future ahead. Approachable now with long decant but should have no problem drinking well for decades to come.

Her var det mer trøkk. Kunne fort ha gått til Bordeaux her.
Ung, men samtidig sekundær. Hvordan vil denne utvikle seg?

This wine begin with youthful, expressive red fruits on the bouquet that turn darker and richer with airing that also brings out spice, earth and floral notes. The medium bodied palate show some youthful intensity with underlying structure. The wine gives a medium to long finish with combination of tannin and acidity present. This wine will benefit from additional bottle age.

Ripe and full-bodied. Red fruited with grilled meat and mushrooms. Long aftertaste. Very primary and needs a lot of air to become smooth and civilized. Lots of potential here, but currently a bit too aggressive for my taste.
