Very pale brick, looks much older than 11 years. At P&P, nose of a rustic Southern Rhone. Very mild on the palate but pleasing enough that it was one of a couple which were finished before the tasting was finished,

This is a very surprising bottle of wine. Very musty/wet wood/Southern Rhone type aroma to this wine when we first opened. Very pale, almost opaque, probably the most light colored wine I've ever seen. The flavor was really nice though; subtle floral and berry. We wanted more, when it was all gone. What more can you say?

Transparent garnet with definite bricking. Nose of funk, cola, cherry, and orange peel. Light bodied and feminine style, but cherry, cola, pomegranate, and spice carry through the medium+ finish. This is a lighter style that's food versatile, and made in a style Burgundy fans should appreciate it. This has been a great mid-week option for lighter fare for us and I'm going to miss it after this last bottle.

very light pink red, thin mouthfeel. nose with some leather, some heat, light fruits. smoky red fruit in the mouth. short finish, moderately acidic. i would not buy again, but some folks may like it. not terrible but somewhat uninspiring.

Popped and poured. Very light color, verging on orangey.
1st sniff: nose was not so present, and what was there seemed unimpressive. Didn't look too promising. Appearances can deceive. And then maybe not.
On 1st tasting realized it's a very pretty wine, feminine, refined and delicate, in some ways like a really good Volnay without as much of the nose.
After airing for about an hour, fleshed out a bit, more structure, but the delicacy and deliciousness got more so! The nose started to come around as well, some forest undergrowth, a touch of barnyard, but also some minor floral elements coming into the picture.
The light and orangeish color and initial nose issues are harbingers of loss of vitality. I think they are showing a wine that is fading.
NOTE: Originally had this at a much higher score for taste. After tasting bottle #2 and then #3, I would now say THIS WINE IS OVER THE HILL.
It is falling apart really fast. Drink now while it still has some pleasure to give.
It's drinking well immediately after opening. After 2 hours it starts to unravel a bit, especially the nose. Drink up soon or better yet, yesterday.

Really nice at first, clean ripe cherries on the nose and palate. As time passed it became more viscous and the palate shifted to more syrup leaning cherry favors. Not a favorite.

Opened one hour ahead of time, and it makes a difference. Structure and balance are much better, excess sweetness is mostly gone. Should pair well with a variety of foods.

Popped and poured. Rubbery plum aroma. Slightly sweet, with flavors of cherry soda, cloves and plum. Finishes well, with good balance. Too much sweetness up front, but more delicate flavors do come through. Decent for the ($15) price.

Testing the travel shock theory here--these just arrived today. Transparent garnet color with a light brownish tint to the edges, and a clear meniscus. Nice nose of red fruits, orange peel, cinnamon, earth, and a touch of oak. Medium body and acidity with notes of cranberry, strawberry, pomegranate, orange peel, clove, and a bit of oak spice on the back end. I'll try it again in a month and see if there's a difference, but drinking fine for us today. Solid weeknight pinot for lighter meal pairing.

Very light in color, kind of strawberry/cherry gum on the nose. Nothing to write home about. Glad this was my last one

Light bodied, lots of fruit but also unexpectedly peppery, which we liked.

Not what I expected, very light/pale color, but did have some strawberry jam in the background

Super super light in color. A small amount of strawberry on the palate and a tiny amount of spice on the nose.

Really disappointing! Sour in a bad way, disjointed unbalanced, just overall a terrible wine. Not even reminiscent of Pinot Noir, it was that bad.

Consistent w/ previous note, with some strong, tart cherry notes as well. Nothing to note with regard to travel shock.

The '08 is still drinking a little young; another year or two should help balance out the fruit and bring out the minerality and earth components.
