An amazing bottle, esp. for the price. This still has loads of honey/citrus-type fruits (esp. for dry Chenin) and white florals, as well as good structure, balanced with lively bubbles and acid. There is a luxurious creaminess and very long finish. Beautiful!

Took a flyer here, a lot of good notes on Filippo Sobrero, who is described by the Wassermans as a very traditional producer, including within Monprivato and Villero, that can produce disappointing but sometimes potentially magnificent wines. Not sure where this Barbera was grown, but in a lesser vintage, it was really not much more than a pale rose that, while sound, never developed after opening into anything of real interest.

My bottle was faded red, with modest cigar box aromas, and a long tangy finish. Of course a superb pairing with Patatas a la Riojana, and even the day after with an acidic BBQ chicken. Quite nice Reserva, the '75 vintage is rated as a "VG"
