Verrrrry disappointing. Full marks for packaging. Lovely silver bottle, fabulous cork cage wrapper. Advice to vigneron....spend more on your product and less on your image. The net effect is that the packaging is so memorable, that the bottle will remind you never to buy it again! It is way to yeasty, bubbly, superficial. No subtility, no finesse. Too bad.

To be honest, I’m a burgundy fan. Why go anywhere else for a beautiful white. Prices will vary on the appellation and producer but you can get some very nice burgundy whites under 30 Euros, so why chance other nations or regions for a Chardonnay? Well, just down the road from us near Geneva is a great little ( and award winning ) producer who makes some fabulous reds. I gave the white a try. Hey, it didn’t convince me to drop my burgundy bias, but it will try to put a little more money into the local economy from here on out. Quite a nice lemony number, but a little green at the end. Not bad...

Bad start, the cork crumbled as I tried to take it out. After a bit of filtering to remove the bits it let it settle in a carafe. The bottled must have been stored upright over a long period of time ( it did not come from my cellar). So naturally we expected a thoroughly oxidized wine, particularly given its age, but nope, the wine was a really trooper....lovely, smooth and fruity with strong black current overtones. If this bottle survived under these conditions, a well stored wine should have lots of room to run.
