A very pleasant surprise for less than $20, I recommend this to anyone who wants a taste of Bordeaux for a fraction of the price. Very interesting wine because it is Cabernet Savignon but it taste like something out of Pomerol, very plummy and dark almost like a Merlot and definitely tasted like Cabernet Franc mixed in with the spice. I would actually compare this to some Pomerol’s in the $50 plus range that I’ve had. Seems a little fat and dull initially but the earthy dark plum flavors come through afterwards along with a bit of Cabernet Franc-like cinnamon spice at the end. Moderate finish. And I know of course there is no Merlot or Cabernet Franc listed in it but that’s what it tastes like, maybe the red clay that it it is grown in imparts that kind of Pomerol flavor? Curious if others taste the same thing?

To me, this is an excellent Pinot for the price...worthy of Pinot's in the $30-35 range (purchased for $24). Cherry, strawberry fruit right off the nose...giving way to rose petals and slight leather undertones. Not a long finish...but decent complexity nonetheless. Its become my "Go to" Pinot when I don't want to spend $30+.

Interesting Pinot. Complexity is there. Floral notes on the nose, flavors of black fruits, cola, tea, a hint of mushroom, sprinkled with light spice notes as well. Nice dry finish, very well structured with moderate tannins. If it were a blind tasting, I might guess a French Burgundy with extra richness from a very ripe year...definitely something "Burgundian" with this one.
