    still alive and kicking! this was showing a bit of aged profile, but after a solid 45-60 min decant, was really, really good. dark fruit still present, tannins well integrated but definitely present, cedar and leather and thyme flavors. paired exceptionally well with steak and balsamic/worchester pan sauce.

    Puglia is the narrow peninsula that juts out in Italy’s southeast corner and separates the Adriatic and Ionian Seas. Notable for its deep color, vibrant perfume and pleasant, earthy bitterness, Negroamaro has seen its rustic image improve over the last couple of decades as producers have gone from selling their grapes to a local cooperative to crafting their own wines. The Brindisi appellation allows blending with a few other selected varieties for complexity and nuance. This wine is made by Casa Vinicola Botter under the Tor del Colle label, a company that began in 1928 and is now in the third generation, making wine in the Veneto and southern Italy

  • 2011 Barn 85 Sauvignon Blanc The Shepherd

    nice, light sauv blanc. grapefruit on the nose, lychee, apricot. decent acidity. would have been better with something more creamy than the quiche. Tasted better as it got a bit colder.

    The wine looks Straw colored. The legs are Medium. It smells like Grapefruit, Apricot, and Lychee. The body is Light/Medium. The wine finishes Short.
