In a very nice place. There's the usual V&S oxidative/vinous edge, which I really enjoy in balance with the pretty light-red fruit flavors and aromas. Like other bottles from the producer, I find it better with food. Not sure if it lives up to the price-tag, but an engaging, delicious bottle (if you like the house style).

This needed ~45 minutes in a decanter to really open up. Faded but very pretty aromas of red fruit, florals, and underbrush and a silky palate that was very much alive. It's not getting better—and was definitely at its peak several years ago—but was charming and beautiful to drink. A special opportunity.

This wine seems a bit more open and friendly compared to some vintages and it was a delight to drink, though not quite as angular and savory as the 2010, say. A darker fruit profile plus a bit more weight makes this a very approachable/crowd friendly Mondeuse without sacrificing the nature of the grape/place to the vintage. Seemed to need an hour in decanter to really open up.
